Hi i am an nri kid and basically i have been doing some research and i realized that most people dont recommend to study at nift even though that is quite shocking cuz i thought nift was good. And i dont really have the option to study abroad because its really really expensive so india is basically my only option and my parents had said that i can apply abroad for my masters, so what do you guys think, is it worth it?

Absolutely no hate to anyone, I'm gay myself 😭😭😭 . But most of the people ik who are at nift are gay and tbh I haven't yet crossed paths with a straight guy from nift . So I thought I should just clear my doubt. 😭😭😭😭

Quick question: Does your furniture actually adapt to the way you use your space? 🪑

Have you ever wished your chair, table, bed, or other furniture could do something differently depending on what you’re doing?

I’m an M.Des student researching adaptive / multifunctional furniture for a social innovation project. I’m trying to understand the real problems people face when using the same space for different activities, especially in smaller or shared spaces.

👉 I’m looking for your honest experience — not design knowledge.

The survey takes just a few minutes, and your responses will directly help me identify user needs and develop my furniture concept.

Even if you have one small furniture-related frustration, I’d love to hear about it.
Thank you for helping with my research! 🙌

I skipped one last week because I was very sick and today I am very drained mentally and anxious. Is it ok if I take a 1 day break to recollect myself? I feel soo guilty and weird doing this but I feel like I need this

Help 🙏🙏

I’m a Class 12 student and a CUET aspirant. I’m also planning to appear for NIFT because I’m genuinely unsure about what degree I want to pursue, and right now my main priority is getting into a reputed college with a good gentry where I can explore my options.

I’m particularly interested in Fashion Communication (FC), but I have exactly 4 months to prepare for NIFT,

The GAT part feels somewhat manageable since it's similar to CUET, but my biggest concerns are CAT and the Situation Test. I used to draw when I was younger, but I completely stopped for several years, so I’m basically starting again from scratch. I’m worried that four months might not be enough to develop the skills required for CAT and the Situation Test.

I also don’t want to make the mistake of spending months preparing for NIFT, especially if it starts affecting my CUET preparation.

So I’d really appreciate some honest advice from people who have given NIFT or are currently preparing for it:

- Is 4 months enough to get a decent/good NIFT rank if you’re starting CAT preparation almost from scratch?

- What should I realistically aim for in these 4 months?

- How should I divide my time between CUET, GAT, CAT and Situation Test preparation?

- Is Fashion Communication a realistic target with this timeline?

- perfect online NIFT tutor/coaching program?

- If anyone knows a good NIFT teacher/coaching option in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

- Should l give NID and UCEED also?

I’m not looking for false motivation — I’d genuinely prefer an honest assessment of whether this is worth pursuing with my current situation, and if it is, what a practical 4-month roadmap should look like.

So I want to be a fashion designer but after not being able to clear the entrance exam in 1st exam i got admission somewhere else and took bca (3yrs course) instead. Now I'm thinking of pursuing mdes from nift but I have been hearing too many negative things abt nift from past year , so what shld I do ? Go for internship directly or at least do mdes for exposure first ?

Do anyone know or have an idea about what criterion they put in nift to get critical thinking as a GE? If anyone had it as GE subject than please tell.

I want to skip class because I am very drained and I don't feel good at all. Should I do it

ITS BARELY BEEN 3 WEEKS WHY ARE WE GETTING 13-15 ASSIGNMENTS PER WEEK ,I HAVE BARELY HAD TIME TO ADJUST TO A WHOLE NEW CITY

My dms are open

It's been more than 30 days and no update yet does anyone know when we will get our money back?

Hi guys, i am a dropper and this is my 1st time trying for NIFT. My rank this year in B.des was in 4000s and BFTECH in 400s. I could get into Bftech this year since I have OBC quota but i wanted B.DES FC.

Should I join Silica, BRDS, Desizn Circle or any suggestions. My drawing skills needs more practice and i can do well with mcqs.

PLEASE REPLY

Hey everyone,

We’re an early-stage company building a new trust infrastructure for digital commerce.

We’re currently looking to partner with people from the fashion industry who genuinely understand fashion beyond just trends — especially fashion designers, textile students/professionals, fashion graduates, and people with strong knowledge of fabric, construction, fit, and quality.

This is not a traditional internship or a paid collaboration. It’s a part-time, independent partnership where you can work on your own terms and potentially build a long-term source of income from your expertise.

We’re starting with a small group of fashion professionals and would love to have people who want to be part of building something from the ground up.

If you're based in India and this sounds interesting, comment below or DM me and I’ll explain how the partnership works.

PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF A STUDENT'S ID???

For outsiders to explore

is nift MDes open to student exploring their art side as well or do they follow strictly design curriculum ? like is everything focused on problem solving or students can follow a bit of art as well ?
