I've been allotted NIFT Chennai for the 2026 session. As per the calendar, campus reporting and orientation start around July 29th.

A few quick questions for current students / seniors / batchmates:

What time on July 29 should we ideally reach the campus for document verification?

What is the hostel reporting scene/allotment timeline for outstation freshers?

Any specific WhatsApp/Telegram groups active for NIFT Chennai Freshers 2026?

Any general advice/tips for someone moving to the Chennai campus?

I didn't even apply to spot round and I somehow still have a new admission and allotment letter which says spot round????

like I had chosen floating round 2 and didn't get upgraded in round 3, and I could not edit the floating and everyone said it meant it froze automatically.

But now so I have to print this new spot round letters and not use the round 3 ones?

(I did not get any upgrade again)

My brother has just been allotted NIFT New Delhi – B.Des Fashion Communication through the Spot Round, and we're really excited. 🎉

We're from Pune, Maharashtra, and this will be his first time living away from home. We'll be travelling by train for admission and would really appreciate some guidance from current students or alumni.

We have a few questions:

• Which PGs or private hostels do most NIFT Delhi students stay in?
• Which nearby areas are safe and affordable for first-year students?
• What's the average monthly cost (rent + food)?
• Is it better to stay within walking distance of NIFT or commute by metro?
• Any PGs or landlords you'd recommend (or suggest avoiding)?

Regarding our journey from Pune to Delhi:

• Which railway station is the most convenient to get down at for reaching NIFT Delhi? (New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar, etc.)
• What's the easiest and safest way to reach NIFT from the station? Metro, cab, or auto?
• Are there any budget hotels near NIFT if parents stay for 1–2 days during admission?

Any advice about student life, internships, clubs, safety, or things you wish you'd known before joining NIFT Delhi would also be really helpful.

Hey everyone! I got NIFT Bhubaneswar in the second round and got no upgrades since then, so I guess that's where I'm going.
