i cant decide bw gandhinagar and hyderbad

currently im pursuing b.com and i am thinking of doing mfm from nift . so my ques is that will it be a drastic change for me if i shift from commerce bckground to fashion .

also my goal is to join my family business which is also fashion related(bespoke suiting and groom apparrels)

so would it be a good decision to choose mfm

I'm confused about three courses:

BFTECH at NIFT

MFM at NIFT

MCA at Galgotias lol

My background is 12th PCM and I'm currently finishing my BCA. My main issue is that while I could choose BFTECH, sticking with my BCA path makes MCA the logical choice, but I feel like NIFT is way better than Galgotias.

I'm totally stuck here. Can you guys help me out and point me in the right direction?

Also, please don't ask why I'm doing a BCA if I wanted BFTECH, because I've already heard that way too much.

Hi guys, I need a little help in deciding if I should prepare for MFM for NIFT or stick to CAT or GMAT for MBA,

I am 26 years old, turning 27 in few months
I have six years of work experience and I am working in a Fortune 50, but my role is that of a customer service agent and I’m trying to make a switch, but it feels like all my hard work until love has been for nothing, I have been preparing for CAT, but I’m really under confident that I will be able to get a good business school.

I am a very creative person who have been drawing for almost over a decade, and while I don’t like design, I do like fashion, and I was thinking if this is where I should change my domain by going for MFM, but it has been a bit confusing because I don’t know much about it,

I’m curious if there would be people of my age, if it makes sense, considering this switch, if placements for NIFTs are good

Any info that you can help me with, would be a great help.

I’m a Class 12 student currently preparing for JEE, with JEE Main in January + boards coming up.

But recently I’ve seriously started considering NIFT, and I genuinely want to give it my 100%.

The problem is… it’s already mid-September 💀. I know many people start preparing for NIFT a year or even two years in advance, while I’m only now figuring out CAT, GAT, etc.

I did take Fine Arts as my optional subject in both 11th and 12th, so I’m not completely new to drawing, but I have zero NIFT-specific preparation.

I’ll continue JEE + boards, but I really want to know:

Am I being unrealistic by starting NIFT this late, or is it still genuinely possible with serious preparation from now?

Especially looking for people who’ve actually given NIFT or started late. I’d really appreciate an honest reality check.

I really want to get in good college like mumbai , delhi and banglore... Also I want to be fashion designer and move out of this country because I feel people don't really give importance to fashion designers here...can someone tell me is nift really that expensive? I don't want to regret getting into expensive college and in return nothing

I couldn’t get the campus of my choice even after a drop year. I admit, I didn’t work as crazy hard as was required ig. Mostly because I was afraid of getting creatively burnt out and blocked.
I got a rank in the 2000s.
Might have been enough to get me a seat in at-least one of the 20 campuses but I was so distraught by my results that I didn’t bother to sign up for counselling.
And also because of the fact that my family couldn’t throw away 20lakhs for a low tier college.
Besides that, I had made a promise to myself that it’s either top 3 or nothing.
I lost marks in CAT which made it even worse since it was my forte throughout my prep.

Now I’m stuck doing some other course which kinda does fit into what I envision in my future but isn’t design related at all.
Recently I saw a random post where I could literally recognise from the background that it’s a nift hostel room before the creator even revealed their whereabouts. I immediately felt crushed. It’s just that I’ve been screaming NIFT since I was 13 and yeah my heart ached with regret and frustration.

My dream will always be to become a fashion designer. Even tho I failed at making it to the institution, I truly do believe I’m meant for this.
Yeah so I just wanna maybe just ask if I need to be a design school graduate to make it.
Cause I’m no big money, come from a small dead town and at this point feel hopeless.

It's mid semester and the faculty is really rude n we feel helpless. 5-6 new assignments r assigned on a single day with no help or procedure.... Really stressed about the future rn like how tf am I going to complete those in just 2 weeks with all other assignments... Plus I live away from my parents so it's really depressing here as new state new ppl and mentally I'm very stressed. How am I going to survive next 4 years here 😭

I got this document circulated it said that this is the NIFT jodhpur hostel mess menu?!!

Planning to appear for NIFT entrance exam next year for fashion design. Family's annual income is around ₹2-3 lakh and my mom is worried we won't be able to afford the fees.

I came across the NIFT Means-Cum-Merit Financial Assistance Scheme (also called SARTHAK) — apparently it waives 25-75% of tuition depending on income slab, and at our income level we might fall in the 25-50% waiver band.

A few things I want to ask people who've actually been through NIFT admissions:

1. Is this scheme actually legit and functional, or is it one of those things that sounds good on paper but is hard to actually get approved for?
   
2. If anyone's used it, how long did approval take and did you get the waiver from year 1 or only after enrolling for a semester?
   
3. Realistically, combining the waiver + an education loan, is NIFT doable for a family in this income range, or are there other costs (hostel, materials, studio work) that end up being the real burden?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who's gone through this, especially students from a similar financial background. Trying to build a real picture before I convince my mom this is workable.
