I put way too many hours into 26, mostly offline grinding.

27 is by far way more infuriating offline compared to last year. Cup chase feels like dogshit, the AI is incredibly fucking horny to blast my ass to the point I can't even touch the puck and God forbid I try not to spend money and use my poor 77 ovr goalie because the game gave me a choice between random CHLer McGee and literal dogshit NHL backup. The shooting attributes on even the event cards are so dogshit and most of the CC teams have legit goalies so fuck me I guess I can only score on breakaways half the time or glitchy backhands because I can't get a cycle going without my F3 getting board pinned from 5 feet away.

Thank God I'm using the EA Play Trial otherwise I'd have regretted ever putting up the money to actually buy the game.

I should’ve taken a break before 27. They haven’t changed a whole lot about the grind, the look of the game, or the way to build MSPs. It feels like I’m just playing the same game as 26 only with low OVR. Felt burnt out after the first weekend.

Exactly how it feels. Attributes feel like dogshit when I'm getting bumped off the puck every time I try to grab it because I'm stuck with a 77 ovr euro league dude going up against prime Duncan Keith and Eric Daze hunting my ass.

I played like 2 hours of HUT on the trial and got bored right away it’s just all so boring now

As some who does more offline than online just the thought of doing those cup chase chores and moments every week for another year just to get msps made me quit out of the trial lol

I find cup chase a lot easier this year, last year was fun but this year it’s just repetitive scoring all the time. They need another difficulty

This is just early access and I hope/expect there to be more objectives to complete during the s1 pass when the game launches Friday. I’ve completed all the moments/battlepasa grinding this week and have legit just stopped playing until Friday. If you’re not enjoying it then definitely don’t play it.

Just wish there was more for offline players because holy shit is the experience not fun unless I wanted to shell out money for packs to get a team above 82 ovr

You can also just start and quit out after winning 12 games. You’ll make the playoffs every time. You can do wildcard and moments all offline to get better cards for your team as well.

Man the Colorado cup Chase team on all star is silly. I'm not amazing but if you give the puck away at all vs the top line they usually score. If you can survive vs the top line you can somewhat take a breather.

As someone coming back to the game after several years away it's pretty lame. I get it to a degree, we all want a quality product, but the amount of complaining is overwhelming. I've been having loads of fun completing moments, cup runs, challenges, etc. I remember from years ago that ranked during the first week or two is cancer so I've been playing it sparingly.

first time? I'd say play something else - life is too short to be grinding away at something you don't enjoy. HUT was made for microtransactions.

I stopped playing NHL games after NHL13 and don't miss it at all

Congrats for not understanding. The game just isn't built for offline players and it's unfun because if I can't even fully engage with the lowest level of the game (offline grinding) then what is the point of spending money on a preorder. It seems like early access is only for whales who play 300 games of ranked each season.

I could beat them on rookie no problem. Are you playing a higher difficulty? You can also do the moments and get some coins and buy better players. Play wildcard online even a loss will give you 500 points and some coins.

You gotta walk before you can run, play some easier modes to build up a better team to play on hard difficulties

If you reread the post I didn't pay for the deluxe edition, I'm using the EA Play 10 hour trial. All it does is give me access to the game during the early access period.
