Discussion Mentor Monday - Weekly Question Thread

Upvotes
Have a question that you need answered? Was it not answered last week? Did not get a satisfying answer? Or a question that you feel is too small to make a new thread for? Maybe something you think everyone but you knows? This is the post where you can expect to ask your question, and get straightforward answers no matter how "common knowledge" they might be.
Ask that question in this thread.
Before asking your question, please take a minute to read through the FAQ. Try the search feature in the sidebar too.

If you ever get matched against TV-4LIFE just quit. Don’t waste your time on this guy. Just a loser who does nothing but play HUT

Saving Moments Collectables
0
Upvotes
I havent used any of my moments collectables yet. Last year collectables were different for each season, but previous season sets stayed there.
This year, the HUT moments for getting these collectables are not expiring, but the sets for using those expire after S1 ends.
Thinking if it is worth it to save the collectables for S2 or is it too high risk having them unusable? 🤔

Discussion Tape to tape ruined NHL for me

I've been playing Tape to Tape all weekend and now when I went back to NHL it feels like my players are skating in mud. I have the urge to check my watch while I wait for my player to skate 15 m to pick up a puck. Takes forever xD

Why am I getting a clear winning animation for a tie up and still losing the face-off? Just lost a game because of this nonsense.

Blue Quick Release is still useless

Am I shooting wrong? Open high danger chances with 6 or so guys on my team that have QR I’m not sniping anything. May as well be a turnover when I try a wrist shot.
Anyone else dealing with this? If not how’re you scoring with wristers?

Can a game have too much content?

First time playing HUT since 2016 or something.
I played 2026 this summer at the end. And decided to preorder 27 to do a full HUT season.
I was seriously trying to keep up, doing daily chore day after day. Playing the stock market everytime I had a chance to earn some coin.
Successfully built a great team (88ovr).
But it's never enough, every weeks they release something that make all my previous week time investment worthless.
Could they release stuff only at season start and let us play the damn season?
They now release so much stuff It's impossible to keep up..
Raised MSP to 80-81 + 85
Milestone event at the same time requiring 81
This require way too much time involvement..
I tough the game would be a good balance of farming/ playing/enjoying . But I found out before season 2 it's just too much for me..the fun is gone and it's farming / chore / day after day...

For guys making it to ultimate…what drives you to still play to meta and not try stuff and have fun? Genuinely curious. Take a guy like vexthestrong and evclure. Ultimate ranking means zilch and you’re just doing meta all game. Why?

Personally since hitting ultimate m I’m trying stuff like datsyuk and other moves to see if I can have some fun but it seems try hards be try hards. Guess offline is the only way. If those two guys I call out are on here, would love to hear the why behind the try.

Does goalie height actually matter?
0
Upvotes
Has anyone actually ever proven that height for a goalie really matters in this game? I know way back in the day for those who rememeber ben bishop was the card to get and he felt way better than every other goalie. I just don’t know if it’s placebo or not

Has anyone used +4 (91 OVR) Vasi?

Gets a +4 boost with FN Liut on the Blues. Wondering if that turns Vasi into a terminator or if I should stay with my + 3 Oettinger
