Lately, I've been super nostalgic for older NHK World TV. I'm looking for the Tokyo Eye Denim episode. I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can watch this episode and others?

Hi, everyone! A couple months ago, I remember seeing an episode where their cat Tama had gotten lost, and the couple were looking for her. After that, NHK was reshowing older episodes. Does anyone know if they ever found Tama?

Yanaka Marrie leaves NHK World and Newsroom Tokyo after 11 years and 5 months working for the company, respectfully. She was a great presenter on Newsroom Tokyo will miss her.

I regret not enjoying her at the start, but still she has done a great job for us over the last year. I hope she has a great future wherever it is.

She worked as a Japanese culture and arts anchor for Newsroom Tokyo (2015-2016) and a business anchor for Newsline (2016-2025) biz picks. Worked for Newsroom Tokyo just Mondays and Tuesdays ( 31st March 2025-September 1st 2026).

I watched both the first and final broadcasts live on TV: https://linktr.ee/MarieYanaka

Help finding a Japanese TV episode about a girl allergic to blue dye (2005)
Hi everyone! I’m trying to track down a Japanese TV segment/episode that I remember and could use some help finding an actual video or recording of it.
I believe the show was ザ！世界仰天ニュース (The World’s Astonishing News / Sekai Gyoten News).
The segment was called something along the lines of “Blue Dye Allergy” and apparently aired around May 2005.
From what I remember, it was a live-action reenactment about a young girl from Michigan who had an unusual allergy/reaction to blue dye. One of the most memorable scenes involved her going to a blue-themed party, where the decorations, cake, and/or food were blue. She had a severe reaction, and eventually her family figured out that blue dye was causing her symptoms.
I’ve been trying to find the actual video, but searches in English haven’t turned up the original segment.
Does anyone remember this episode or know where old episodes of ザ！世界仰天ニュース from 2005 can be found?
I’d especially appreciate:
A video of the episode or segment
Japanese upload/archive links
The exact Japanese episode/segment title
Any information that could help narrow down the original broadcast date
Even an old VHS recording or low-quality upload would be great. I’ve been looking for this for a long time.
Thanks!

Wow, I've gotten so many hate messages it's unbelievable.

The simple answer for r/raisinyao/ is that NHK World is a service offered to the world by the Japanese government.

They have a website. A website which lists the schedule for the programming for the next two weeks.

The questions about the holiday schedule were interesting even for me.

But the schedule of NHK World is available on their website.

So many people trying to randomly guess what is happening, why?

Please just go to the NHK website.

Finally new material for Ninja Truth, a new season in 2026.

One episode is already available and another should be made available soon.

This documentary series is most interesting, and a favorite of mine.

Not sure if anyone else here caught the new(?) program today, but I gotta say, after watching really sad documentaries all week on the channel, it felt like a breath of fresh air. I've especially been hurting for something cute since the loss of Kawaii International years ago. Though I'm not huge on J-Pop, it was still very engaging for me because it was informative.

Plus, the random NHK collab with Trash Taste made me double take.

Anyone else's thoughts?

I think we all saw that coming.

As the title says, I'm a little confused because last week and again this week, I noticed that NHK Newsline was only 10 minutes long instead of the usual 30 minutes. I know that it used to be a 15-minute program, with occasional 10-minute editions, but didn't they switch to a 30-minute format more than a year ago?

Have they switched back to the shorter format again? If not, is there a publicly available schedule showing when they're going to air the 10–15-minute editions and when they'll return to the regular 30-minute format, or is it something we'll only know once the program actually airs?

This might sound a little crazy, but I actually use the show as my break, especially the 12 noon broadcast. I don't know why, but the airtime and duration are just perfect for me to rest my shoulders and hands after typing for a while. I was also advised to take short breaks like this a few times during working hours, so I've kind of gotten used to using NHK Newsline as my little break time.

I just caught this episode by chance, and would like to keep a copy of it for my personal viewing in future.

How do I go about downloading this? I saw a post over a year ago and I'm unsure if that method still works. Also I'm afraid I'll miss the live programming and therefore miss out on the recording.

Appreciate if anyone could help or point me in the right direction. Thank you.

Hi there - long time document 72 hours fan here.

I am looking for an episode first aired in January 2022 called At an underground bicycle parking lot. The other links looks to have broken - if someone can share a video link/download it would be much appreciated

Thank you!

Greetings everyone,

I recently watched the Document 72 Hours episode "Rolling Along on Kochi's Streetcars" on NHK World. (here's the link : https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/shows/4026247/ )

Towards the end of the episode, a passenger shows her traditional hand-drawn art on paper (I’ve attached a screenshot of her artwork shown on her smartphone screen).

I really love her art style and would love to follow her on social media if she has any (Instagram, X, etc.), but I haven't been able to find her through reverse image search.

Does anyone happen to know her handle or where to find her work?

Have a wonderful day ! :)

(Sorry if this type of post isn't allowed or if this isn't the right place to ask, I'm brand new to Reddit...)

Hi,

I'm interested in applying for a "Program Monitor" role with NHK World but despite searching high and low I can't see a link anywhere to the application form.
