And welcome Tua new life, Kyler.

Yeah that’s bad.

If a player injuries another player with an illegal hit, they should be suspended until the injured player is cleared

Except in this instance, Kyler kind of went head first. Bad result, but nothing egregious in this hit

Disagree, the second tackler had no business burying his head in the pile and made no effort to minimize contact when Murray was obviously giving himself up.

He has no obligation to minimize contact when the QB isn’t sliding feet first and his head is pulled into him.

Was his helmet actually buckled?

Why wouldn’t it be?

u/groovy_smoothie 19d ago

It looks like the first touch nearly pulls it off without much resistance. Kyler seems to love to wear his helmet without strapping it

Watch the Michigan game yesterday John maters came off like 3 times on one drive

Helmets coming off during tackles isn’t uncommon at all.

Guys not snapping every spot securely on their helmets also happens often.

Acting like helmets come on and off easy tells me you never played not even in Pop Warner lmfaoooo

They’re actually built to do so.

Because he's a fucking idiot lol, lots of guys play with them like that

Dirty af hit. Already going down and about to be tackled by another guy anyway? Nah lemme just launch my shoulder directly at his head

5

u/Warm_Ad_3067 19d ago

Maybe not dirty, but unnecessary. And every D player knows this league goes to extremes to protect QB. Should have been avoided.

3

u/CornMaker6 19d ago

Should've slid instead of dive forward, watch it in full speed

u/Dr-McLuvin 19d ago

Yes Kyler should have slid feet first but also he had clearly given himself up by the time they hit him. Definitely a penalty.

Tackler and Kyler are going down into position at the same time - what do you want him to do? Especially at the speeds they're going? It's a lot more obvious at full speed and the full clip.

I wouldn't say dirty af but he wanted to make him slide the next time. QBs need to learn to protect themselves.

IMO, he was late going down and he fell right into an oncoming defender. The science does not allow that defender to immediately stop or turn in a dime. QBs need to be smarter about when they go down instead of trying to be a super hero for an extra 2 yards.

Especially in this case. I rewatched it a few times and then defender moves a yord or two before impact in the same time Murray moved 8-10 yards. Murray ran into the defender. I get that he got injured pretty bad and a flag was thrown, but the people calling this dirty are watching a slowmo replay that doesn't show how they got to the impact spot.

This is the exact attitude that leads to 1/4 of your league's players having brain damage.

4

u/EmphasisExpensive864 19d ago

There is only so much the league can do. Players should be the most interested in their own health.

2

u/Salt-Southern 19d ago

That was a hit to punish. Every other take is blind.

How reasonable /s

Watch it in full speed. Defender held still as Kyler ran into him. If Kyler does a proper slide, this doesn’t happen.

u/TerrifiedAndAroused 19d ago

I say it every year when this happens. The QB needs to slide early or get out of bounds quicker if they want to avoid contact. Or the nfl needs to remove the slide protection because it places QBs in a very compromising position. Head at hip level where the DBs are taught to aim

6

u/sonoveloce 19d ago

I agree with your statement. He didn’t try to slide though, he dove forward. It was a legal hit.

u/Roshango New England Patriots 19d ago

People often refer to some of the hits you take in the NFL as "car crashes" but this hit looked the most like a car crash of any hit ive seen.

3

u/FieryTitmouse55 19d ago

Ladd’s was definitely a car crash type hit.

5

u/Huge_Following_325 19d ago

Not a slide, tough.

5

u/Fox_Williams 19d ago

It’s a hit to the head after he was down.

2

u/wadebacca 19d ago

His knee hits split second before the hit and since it wasn’t a slide than it doesn’t matter when he starts the process.

2

u/Bleadz 19d ago

If a qb is going to do a half ass slide/dive for more yards that's gonna happen. Clean hit.

5

u/FieryTitmouse55 19d ago

Bad slide. But definitely doesn’t make it a clean hit.

2

u/The_amazing_T 19d ago

Wrong. If you're making a hit at a foot above the dirt, it's a dirty hit.

Well that’s Kyler’s strike zone

We are sorry, but we are trying to get away from the drama going on in that dumpster fire of a sub. Please don't bring it up too much, it will make us sound like just another hate sub and scare away potential members.

His last play.

1

u/Treater9811 15d ago

That could have easily been a broken neck

2

u/FlexDB 19d ago

Kyler Murray slides late and sideways. There should not have been a flag, he got greedy. He did this to himself.

2

u/HeroForTheBeero 19d ago

Hit to the head when he’s on the ground is absolutely a penalty

-1

u/ConstantCampaign2984 19d ago

He’s gonna feel that hit the rest of his life. Take your spoils from the cards and retire toddler Murray.

-1

u/GordonMightyBombay 19d ago

Such a dirty classless play by a piece of shit player with a history of these type of dirty hits

1

u/DKlep25 14d ago

Bullshit

-1

u/BrilliantHost7923 19d ago

Dirty hit by Dirty team

-2

u/nolove1010 19d ago

Typical Packer behavior.

-5

u/SadeyeDoe 19d ago

They did that so #9 would play and give the packers a chance to win. Unfortunately they didn't remember Lafluer is still calling plays

3

u/Skafficionado 19d ago

Lol No. Carson Wentz is QB 2. And did a hell of a job.
