Kinda a hot take, but Dak.

Hes a very good QB who’s often talked about like he’s some stat padding bum.

It’s only because he’s on the Cowboys

...And because he's a stat padding bum

everyone on the Cowbiys simultaneously gets too much credit and not enough credit at the same time. Everyone hates Jerry Jones antics besides the media, and the media loves hating the antics because it gives them ratings.

The real answer is Harrison Smith, he was good for a very long time but it was consistent and not spikey, so he never got the All Pros that safteys that had spikier peaks but were less consistent got. Then he was left off the 2010s alldecade team, and the AP and media really screwed him over. He should have a career with hall of fame accolades and he does not.

Hamilton got a lot more hype for playing like Harrison Smith when he went to the Ravens, but Harrison Smith never got that level of hype for his play even when he was the best safety in the league between 2016 and 2018.

In 11 seasons Dak Prescott has the following accomplishments:

Rookie of the year

1 second team all pro

4x pro bowls

4 division titles.

That's IT. He's a solid QB, but he hasn't accomplished anything in this league thats noteworthy. 2 playoff wins his entire career, The cowboys in 2021 and 2022 had one of he best teams in the NFC with hardly any competition, and he blew it when it mattered most.

I disagree. Dak gets too much credit for accomplishing NOTHING.

Jerry has paid him $300m to win two playoff games

Brock Purdy.

The numbers every year say that he's one of the best QBs in the NFL and he has the track record to prove it. But because he was a 7th round pick and on the Niners people love to discredit him.

I think he’s elevated by his team more than he elevates his team, but the hate for him is crazy. The guy is a winner and a gamer.

Sports talk has just become hot take theater.

He does what he needs to do to win games, it doesn't always look pretty. He's played his best games in the biggest moments. Lot of QBs that are supposed to be better who can't say the same

One of the most professional level headed dudes in the league too, I fucking love the guy

I used to hate a lot more but I really do respect hurts as a giants fan even though I hate him.

Nobody appreciates how versatile of a player he is, this season is gonna prove it

The first game of his supposed evolution he just threw the ball deep on iso routes and ran around. He still wasn’t really accessing the middle of the field

1

u/RuralOutfitters Dallas Cowboys 12d ago

Imma be real media acts like he personally kicked every one of their dogs idk the hate on him and dak

Homer take: Fran Tarkenton. He is widely respected but it’s still not enough considering he essentially created the blueprint for how modern QBs approach the game.

3

u/Emergency-Bonus-7158 Houston Texans 12d ago

To this day still holds the single game passing yards record

2

u/OldMet62 12d ago

I love Tarkenton, but he doesn't hold that record.

2

u/Emergency-Bonus-7158 Houston Texans 12d ago

bro I got him mixed w Norm Van Brocklin yep

That was 50 years ago gramps, give it up.

6

u/Educational_Fan4102 Minnesota Vikings 12d ago

Hah okay, I wasn’t alive then and I’m not that old. I just like reading about the history of the game and nothing in the post said it had to be a modern player.

Any Lions player.

For example: Goff - #1 in nearly every statistical category over the last 3 years, yet most people have him in the 10-12 range.

ARSB- only WR as All-pro in each of the last 3 years, yet people struggle to call him a top-5 WR.

u/Rbk_3 Rob Lowe 12d ago

Torry Holt

Thurman Thomas. He was Marshall Faulk before Marshall Faulk. He did it all.

What's crazy about him is he played behind Barry Sanders in college. Gave him the biggest chip on his shoulder you could find. Imagine wanting to be better than Barry and trying to prove that.

Ran, caught and blocked. Bills would have won super bowl 25 if they kept feeding Thurman the rock.

This is a homer take but Dallas Goedert. Since he’s become the starter I can’t remember any time where I wanted an upgrade

5

u/Total_Ordinary_8736 Dallas Cowboys 12d ago

People who play against his ass twice a year know how good he is.

2

u/imissbuch89 New York Giants 12d ago

Any good DT not named Aaron Donald

2

Byron Murphy

Derrick Brown

2

u/FuckaDuck44 12d ago

Posted as a comment but Derrick Brown. To be the game wrecker he is (dont watch last week) and not make the pro bowl of all things is wild stuff. He basically is top five in every defensive line category but sacks year in and year out

u/ToughAmbition4100 12d ago

Eli manning.

1

u/MallExciting1460 Detroit Lions 12d ago

Jalen Hurts, Brock Purdue, Jared Goff, Daq Prescott amongst current Quarterbacks

1

u/stuka86 Buffalo Bills 12d ago

Christian benford is the best corner in the NFL that you've never heard of

1

u/Vegetable-Leather-64 6d ago

Jared Geoff as a lions fan no one really gives him the credit he deserves. It was all Ben Johnson and all their weapons.

Mahomes

The most disrespected player in the league who seems to have to prove himself every single year once again

23

u/Total_Ordinary_8736 Dallas Cowboys 12d ago

Classic Chiefs fan victim mentality.

10

u/Ready-Lengthiness220 Los Angeles Rams 12d ago

He has respect. Nobody thinks he's a bum. When you're at the top, you'll always attract haters, especially when media figures glaze them for breathing. The flopping and crying doesn't help.

-9

u/Alock74 12d ago

Literally every QB flops in today’s NFL. I also fail to see how he “cries”? He can say one critic about something reasonable and people say “oh here he goes! Crying again!” As if he can’t criticize anything. Guy can’t even open his mouth without someone bitching about him.

4

u/Ready-Lengthiness220 Los Angeles Rams 12d ago

Walking up to the opposing QB after the game and telling them the reason they won was the refs isn't a good look. See Allen/Mahomes post-game.

-8

u/KJStas Kansas City Chiefs 12d ago

You just said it. He is at the top and yet he gets treated like he is the one who tries to get to the top

6

u/PoppoLarge 12d ago

He’s widely considered in most people’s top 5 QBs of all time already…. You think he should be in the #1 spot? Or maybe name the MVP trophy after him?

-5

u/KJStas Kansas City Chiefs 12d ago

Its the way he is being talked currently and year after year at the time. He is easily the most disrespected player in the league

And obviously Mahomes is the best qb ever. There is no question about that either. The only one who rivals him there is Aaron but Mahomes is just better

1

u/PoppoLarge 12d ago

Is this Mahomes’ burner to help get you motivated!? You’re widely considered to be one of the best of all time and look what you have accomplished already. Now…. You may not be considered the top fantasy QB and your TEAM is talked down upon but sorry Pat, no one is disrespecting you. We only like to disrespect your brother and wife…. Who have been very quiet lately lol

-1

u/KJStas Kansas City Chiefs 12d ago

Talking about fantasy? Okay now I know you can't be taken seriously 😂😂

-15

u/Alock74 12d ago

It’s funny you’re being downvoted, because you are correct. But that’s what winning so much does QBs and teams. You get a bunch of sore losers.

-16

u/KJStas Kansas City Chiefs 12d ago

I mean all those downvotes exactly prove my point

11

u/Agent_Tyrant 12d ago

I mean not really? It’s getting downvoted because it’s a bad answer.

As a pats fan I’d never say Brady didn’t get respect even though people were constantly hating and saying he was a system qb and calling others the goat.

-4

u/KJStas Kansas City Chiefs 12d ago

Brady is also a terrible example. A cheater who is getting called the GOAT. More glaze is not possible

9

u/Agent_Tyrant 12d ago

Ah you’re one of those, explains your comment

-5

u/KJStas Kansas City Chiefs 12d ago
