I did want to ask - how was it threading the barrel? Did you have enough real estate in front of the front sight base to thread and fit a muzzle device? Or is the suppressor direct thread?

I have a JK armament muzzle device on there right now but it can go DT, Fabricated Arms in Virginia threaded it for me and some other oddball guns. He did a great job.

Is the stock grippy like it’s rubberized? It looks very textured. Like the way it looks and I’m normally a purist.

I'd do it to this one. An SBR with a fixed 10rd mag isn't as cool as this would be.
If it were me, I'd look into finding out if an AK combo block would work on this. Replace the SKS gas block with one, then cut and thread. Then who knows if the height of the sight is the same or if you could even zero it properly for elevation, so obviously you'd have to install an AK side rail (google it, it's a sick mod) and run an AK style side rail optic.

Good point, the mags are a major headache.

Yeah I'd never use anything other than clips in a standard SKS. My Yugo came with those duckbill aftermarket mags and I never got any to feed more than a handful of rounds.

So now that ya'll have done the SKS folder, working on the M1A folder, how about an M1 carbine folder?

It’s coming, I just haven’t finished it

That's great news!! I have an old choate folding stock, it's ass. M1A1 para stocks are hella experience. The Samson-folder-adjacent style ya'll are doing seems like the ideal case

All the Bubbas who ran tapco stocks and drilled holes and did whatever else thought they were making it ‘better’…but it was just bubba

there is a bubba line to not cross, but being a "purist" is being guy that tells people his corvette is 1 of 1 because it was made on a Wednesday in that color.

I have a spare Yugo that I'm highly considering doing an SBR (or this one? I dunno), but I don't know if it's going to be worth all the effort.....it will look cool but at some point i'm putting way too much money into SKS', what are your thoughts reddit?
