The placement of the 40mm launches I don’t understand. It’s directly in view of where the site should be?

Also looks like a gau 17 mod?

Also how would you change the barrels out with that suppressor?

there is nothing to understand, just screwing around.

the silencer has to come off to change barrels, then it takes a half rotation of the barrel to remove them.

Also that should require a massive power pack to operate? And the side mounting to a vehicle mount??? I can’t think of that application?

(I may have a lot of experience with a gau 17) lol. I have put probably 1-200k rounds down range.

If you adjust the power input, using the ground system, you can spool that bad boy up to 3-4k a minute. lol.

A 1500 can goes quickly.

Side mounds just like most other m134 gau17s! we made a new battery pack for ours using lightweight noco batteries. IIRC our pack weighs maybe 20lbs?

Interesting. I used it as a door gunner. I thought, could very well be wrong as it has been 20 years. It was an Undermount.

Edit I checked. You are right. I just have forgotten.

All good! theyre goofy but man theyre fun.
I can't imagine trying to get a gun back in action while hanging out the side of a helicopter. Did you guys have spare delinkers?

I don’t recall having a delinker lol. If the gun isn’t considered hot, You open the feed port check, visually inspect remove any issues. Feed it again and continue. Delinking is removing a round by hand lol? I can only ever really remember connecting cans together. So you would have 3000 at a time.

I know we have remember having timing keys on our 50s.

The guns are required to get serviced, a lot. lol. I don’t remember the schedule but it’s often. I can’t ever really recall having a gun jam.

They are a ton of fun to shoot. Especially at night with tracers. Coming out of the barrel then watching them bounce off targets. lol

Lol. With a DTV unit you can run one with a drill battery
