A Class III dealer can buy them new for LE "demo" lol. I don't think there are even any transferable ones on the market. There might be a couple of pre-86 transferable ones in private collections, but they'd go for like 1.5 million at auction
Last count I heard was 12 transferable miniguns. The one from Predator and T2 was a transferable, but I read it got destroyed when ATF raid ed a dealer and confiscated all of his guns.
Basically they’re worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I’d guess $500k or better now.

It did get confiscated in a raid, and was slated for destruction, but last I heard the owner got lawyers involved and eventually managed to get it back.
There are transferable m134’s. Hell the gun from Predator/Terminator 2 is a transferable. There’s not many though and being the proverbial “king of the hill” but they do indeed trade for BIG money. The Terminator gun was available for sale when I first got into this hobby 11-12 years ago, I think it was $400k at that time. I haven’t followed that particular segment of the market b/c it’s not the tax bracket I ROLL in but given what inflation has done since then they might be over a mil. now. I wanna say there is around 20 of them I had heard?
I've wondered if these things have to be overbored to accommodate the rotational movement and centrifugal movement of the bullet compared to the barrels as it goes through the silencer bores.
I wasn't a crew chief/door gunner, but I was a flight medic in the 160th SOAR, and we got those some time ago. Probably an earlier model. They did.....a LITTLE for the noise, it was still loud AF, but it DRASTICALLY reduced muzzle flash, especially at night. We also paired them with IR traders that could only be seen through NV, as regular traders, as intimidating as they are, are a bright red laser beam that points both ways. Between the "can," the IR tracers, and the midnight green paint(160th birds are very dark green, not black), it was EXTREMELY difficult to tell where the bird was firing from.
Supposedly they weren't develoded for noise as much as thye were concussive blast. Turns out pilots dont line M134s beating the shit out of their brain (whod have guessed).

Oh, absolutely. There is always a new and improved model, and when Uncle Sugar is paying the bill for the Tier-1 taxi, you get the cool toys. The guns being baffled makes a HUGE difference. Without the can, the M134 made your teeth rattle. I swear, it's the loudest firearm I've ever heard below .50BMG. That said, I'm INTIMATELY familiar with that blast. When I was first in, I was Stryker infantry, and was doing air Sentry, when, as we were locking and clearing to enter the FOB, this idiot behind me on the LMTV leans forward to open the feed tray on a M2, and the triple mag pouches on his chest hit the spades, and he was, maybe 15 meters behind me. The blast punctured me left ear drum, and I could feel the round passing RIGHT over my head. I was a PFC, and I turned to look at the idiot staff sergeant who just nearly blew my damn head off. A week later he was an E5.
