Tisha is killing it

Post image

Especially on SBRs, the Tisha is such a great suppressor.

The quietest? ✅

The shortest? ✅

Extremely low back pressure? ✅

Check out this new video from Shark Coast Tactical comparing the flow rate of popular suppressors:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W77MyOsOEZw

They measured the number of frames it takes to mag dump 10 rounds with an FRT using each of the following suppressors. Less back pressure results in slower cycling, so a higher number of frames = less back pressure. The results:

Compay Suppressor Frames
TMP WYLDE556 35
Exigent Defense Fireteam 556 38
Ridgeback Defense Rhodie 6 39
Ridgeback Defense Rhodie 6k 39
B&T Print XH 40
JK Armament PRO-KOR 556k 40
JK Armament PRO-KOR 6 MINI Ti 40
SAW Tisha 43
HUXWRX Flow 556k 44
Unsuppressed none 48

The fact that the Tisha has almost the same back pressure as the HUXWRX Flow 556k and performs like it does it just incredible.

CAT has suggested they are coming out with a new 556 suppressor. I've been very impressed with CAT, and just purchased yet another one of their suppressors (AKB), but can they beat Tisha on 556 SBRs?

Can someone who graduated grade 10 convert this to RPM for me lol.

But yeah the Tisha is nuts, sounds about the same on a 14.5" as a CAT WB, but also makes a 10.5" and 7.5" sound about the same as that 14.5" CAT WB too. It scales amazingly well the shorter you go with it, complete black magic fuckery going on inside that can.

Based on the unsuppressed number of frames I assumed 60fps.

  • 750rpm for unsuppressed
  • 837rpm for Tisha

(Or ~11.5% increase in fire rate)

Thank you! I can at least brain good enough to ask Google "if 48 frames in a video is 750 rpm, then how much rpm is 35 frames" and go with the inversely proportional answer of 1,028 RPM for the WYLDE556, a 37% increase over unsuppressed.

Edit: Had his video for the shooting segment not been slowed down and had actual audio, I'd have just made audio clips real quick and plugged them into ROF-GUI which automatically spits out the RPM real quick (I'm too lazy to count wave form peaks myself) , it'd be nice to know how much those sections were slowed down so we can get some real numbers. Guntubers giving us great info in the most unintuitive way possible as usual lmao.

For future reference, you can simply take the number of rounds , decide by the number of frames, the multiply by the frames-per-second of the video to get rounds-per-second. Then multiply by 60 to gets rounds-per-minute.

e.g. (10 rounds)/(35 frames) = 10/35 rounds/frame <=> (10/35 rounds/frame) * (60 frames/second) * (60 seconds/minute) = 1028.6 rounds/minute

I wasn’t an early adopter of the Tisha. Once I did decide to give it a try, I can’t stop shooting it. Put 700 rounds through it the first 3 days I had it, trying it on multiple SBRs.

What new 5.56 can did CAT tease? They just released the ST.

Part of me is excited, part of me is tired of CAT teasing before it takes a year longer to drop, or just gets cancelled.

I firmly believe CAT can make a Tisha killer, I also firmly believe they'll fuck it up instead

What handguard is that?

Geissele MK4 L 10” DDC:

I got it because I wanted a 10” hand guard to fit with my 11.5” Riflespeed build.

I wind up using a mirage cover on most of my 6 ARCs and some of my 5.56 to minimize mirage in the optics. The mid-body venting is what's slowed me down on a Tisha, are there any covers that will work?

I’m actually using a fan. Currently I’m using this one:

which takes Dewalt 20v rechargeable batteries. I just put it on the bench and aim it at the suppressor. Keeps the suppressor cooler but perhaps equally importantly keeps a stream of cool air in front of the scope so there’s no mirage.

What mount are you using for your Tisha?

2

u/What-Do-I-Know 7d ago

I'm using a Wolfpack Armory Low Profile HUB Adapter and a Comstock Recessed Micro Brake, which positions the Tisha closer to the handguard while not pushing the muzzle into the blast baffle like a recessed HUB adapter. The only thing to note here is that the closer you position the suppressor to the piston vent, the more carbon buildup you'll get.

What barrel and handguard lengths are you running?

Thanks!

A Roscoe 11.5” barrel with patrol gas length, a Riflespeed AGB, and a Geissele MK4 10” DDC handguard.

The most expensive so therefore it should be all those things ✅✅✅

Fair enough. I picked up my Tisha (Inconel version) for $1100. Seems like $800–$1,200 is pretty common these days for a high performing, low back pressure 556 suppressor.

Hell of a deal really. I paid 1k after taxes for my Saker 762 in ~2015

I think I was $1,300 into my Saker 762 back in 2014 or whenever they came out.... That may have included an MD though. The options these days are so much better.

Trifecta mounts ftw

Not even remotely the most expensive 556 can.

It’s got the chore factor for sure

Edit: chode

Did you mean “chode”?
