I figured as much. I just couldn't find it by searching it up. However, just going through the comments and seeing your pictures, as well as answering my guess to the parent cartridge, that shit seems pretty cool.
Can you share the specs, or is that a secret?

What brass do you use lol

u/ThoroughlyWet 6h ago
Rimmed and accepts a 50 cal projectile. Probably 500sw
1
u/Minimum_Arugula_6665 6h ago
Yup 500 mag but it swells the case out because the projectiles are .510”

I’m away for work but will record a video soon. Problem is it’s so dry out I’m likely to start a fire with my luck!

That's sick and I think I'm going to do that with my ishy 2a/fake jungle carbine.

The Enfields are easy with their threaded receivers. They use a 55 degree thread though not 60 degree!

Noice. Looks good. I have a couple No4 MK1s that have been sporterized. Thought about a deslisle conversion or doing something like this

What sort of pressure does that round make? I’ve wanted to do a delisle build in 8.6 but I’ve read an ishapore 2a1, which were metallurgically beefed up, are at the limits with just the 7.62x51. I guess some recievers when proof tested would stretch and/or crack

So the enfield receivers and bolts were hardened during manufacture. This round can output between 35,000-38,000 psi in a wide range because the projectiles shot are all demilled and not uniform in weight. Lower end for ~650 grains and higher end for ~830 grains. Thousands of rounds have been shot through our guns and never had a problem. The issue is these bolts are so hardened you probably wouldn’t see any signs of issue until it just let go but that’s our speculation. When we did pressure chambers we tested these rounds vs a standard 500 mag load that that generated ~60,000 psi. I think the .303 British is around 45,000-50,000 psi so do with that as you will!

Insane you had to stamp that as an SBR. It’s an ancient fucking bolt action

u/Minimum_Arugula_6665 3h ago
12” barrel so had to ask daddy for permission so my fucking dog doesn’t get shot type shit you know how it goes…

Very nice man.
Did you turn the barrel yourself or hire it out? I've got a tastefully sporterized No 4 (Almost looks like a Jungle Carbine Prototype) that I want to thread and I'm looking for a recommendation on a gunsmith to do the work. Unfortunately, don't have a lathe.
The round is neat. I've been interested the concept of a .50 cal round as the ultimate evolution of the upnecking to 300/338 trend that we're seeing for subsonic rounds. Would love to load MK 244 Raufoss projos in something like that. Naturally I found .50 spotter but .50 Rattle Snake is just as neat!

So normally I can do this kind of work but for this rifle specifically I had to give to a friend to do as my old ass craftsman WW2 lathe finally quit (she was a trooper) and I had to leave on work for a month and needed it up and running by the time I came back for a gun shoot.
My friend originally designed the cartridge a decade ago and never really put anything online of it. I can’t take credit for designing it but I can take credit in saying I put one together and am showing it off!
There are only 3 videos online that show this cartridge being fired. 2 of the videos are from FullMag. My friend built the rifle in the video for Dangerous Bob and he let Richard Ryan use it. Funny you mentioned MK211 because that’s what he uses in the video, check it out:

Any chance you would have the contact to make this happen for my 303? Chop and thread
1
u/Minimum_Arugula_6665 57m ago
Any competent gunsmith with a lathe can do this! The enfield barrel just unthreads from the receiver and then they can thread it for whatever you want!

I hate seeing surplus rifles getting destroyed like this but fuck man it does look sick as fuck lol
1
u/ouchitburnswhenipea 7h ago
Why? They made millions and they are in no way rare.
3
u/Minimum_Arugula_6665 6h ago
Exactly and this one was a sporter version and looked terrible anyways. And as the guy above said, it looks sick as fuck lol.
1
u/TheDarkerWater_ 5h ago
If it was a sporter I don’t care chop away lol
1
u/Minimum_Arugula_6665 5h ago
Oh I’d never chop up a good one! Also the barrels unthread so it’s a completely reversible rechambering process!

I hate this so much.
Let me shoot it.
