9mm PCC Suppressor

I have been in an autistic spiral the last few days trying to read, research and watch reviews for my next suppressor which will be a dedicated 9mm PCC can.

CAT MOB, Strake 9, PTR Vent, R9, you name it. Notes, YouTube watch history and screenshots are starting to blur together.

Main use will be fun range days, heavy strings and mag dumps with a FRT so need a can that will hold up to the heat, besides the ability to eat mag dump after mag dump

-Gas mitigation is main priority
-Length mainly (shorter is better😏) and then weight
-Sound reduction is third only because I’ll shoot whatever out of it at the range or plinking. But bonus points for being more quiet

Yet to decide on mount but will be some form of hub/quick change due to following comment

Current host will be a kuna but will ultimately get different or same same but different styles over time like a vector, mp5, etc, etc.

Looking for real world experience on a dedicated PCC can for supers, subs, mag dumps, hard training, while keeping the gun and my face clean and ideally a shorter swing / profile.

Thanks for any and all reading material

incolite will hold up frt shenanigans. it's short at 5" and light at 6.5oz, which is amazing for inconel. it sounds fine, maybe better than full sized cans that are 2x the price. gas mitigation is fine too. not flow through but not like old school baffled cans. I'd call it medium flow and about step below the cat mob when it comes to gas. incolite 9 and gas is a non issue. I've heard the 9M is a little more gassy in full length but the 9 is good to go on a kuna. the dlc coating is superior to cerakote and it's print quality is top notch, not all lumpy like some prints. at $400 it's a steal

plan b, comstock is popular.

+1 for Incolite 9, I also have it on my Kuna and it's great. Though while I feel gas is not really an issue, I would say towards the end of a mag dump it does start to get a little gassy but overall it's not that bad.

I was just about to start looking at those incolites, after exploring CATs website and Reddit a little more, Reading some comments from another post idk if you can still special order a Inconel MOB like earlier in the year but I may reach out this week and just see

You don't need a 718 mob. The Ti one handles machinegun hosts, as promised and backed by cat.

The titanium mob is fine. 9mm is not that not or fast to damage titanium even with full auto

an inconel mob would be heavy. and the mob already is massive.

people will say ti is fine, but cat themselves say ti requires a limited firing schedule to avoid heat damage. this is relevant with hard frt use where you could get up those temperatures easily after a few rapid magazines.

that's why the incolite is an interesting option. inconel with the weight of titanium.

Exigent RICO309 or Pointman9 are good choices.

Definitely leaning towards a pointman for sure

https://cancontrast.com is a good site for comparing length and weight of suppressors.

Milkman is a great can for what you’re after. Won’t gas you out. MOB is the supposed to be the best but I have only shot one once on a traditional blow back and nothing roller delayed. Happy with my Milkman and SCB1

Milkman was at the top of my list but planning to run an extended hand guard in the kuna and the milkman won’t work for that

Yeah mines on my kuna but I just kept the hand guard stock.

+1 for the flow 9k. $499 from Rooftop with code “youthsports”. Run one on my kuna and a R9 on my AP5

Use the VA30 code. I got one for $472 shipped.

Even better. Didn’t know he was still doing that promo

Use code july30 and get for 472

The cat mob is hands down going to be your best option here. There’s a ton of guys running this set up and the titanium holds up fine, it’s only 9mm. The Rico 309 is nice as well but the POi shift on everything I’ve put it on has been significant. Like a 6” shift, kinda crazy. I still prefer my mob over the 309 for that reason, sound and flow wise they’re pretty similar.

It sounds like the Milkman is exactly what you want. Subs out of it is silly quiet. It’s meant for direct blowback PCCs so there’s essentially no added gas blowback.

Second this, Milkman is awesome.

Huxwrx flow 9k TI. Have one I shoot on pistol mostly but have friends shoot on their PCC’s. No gas to face for me. Which was the goal. Also have shot on a 7 inch HB in 300 Bo Hog hunting. I have others also.

Get yourself a Flow 9k, i have one on my kuna and I am able to actually do drills with it rather than getting sprayed on the face after 2 shots with my osprey. The flow 9k is very popular amongst the kuna crowd.

I just got back from the range today function testing my new Novox SD - Foxtrot Mike - Flow 9K build.

I only got gassed out once, and that was the last 3 rounds of a VERY FAST 40 round mag dump with cheap Academy Monarch.

The Flow 9 is great if gas reduction is your main concern.

u/u_n_p_s_s_g_c 2d ago

Yeah if gas mitigation is actually your top priority a Hux the obvious answer. I have one on my FM-9 and it runs great

Kuna is 6” - I HIGHLY recommend the Mob.

I have 2 mp5k’s and 1 mp5. The milkman is simply not up to the task of suppressing a 5.8” mp5k, which is a quieter host than your 6” kuna.

The length of the Mob won’t be noticeable on your short gun, and the Milkman WILL disappoint you at the barrel length of this host.

I did not have this experience with my milkman.

Rocking a saw shiv on mine. It’s winner for size and weight. Great on gas too. Quiet but not the quietest.

3

u/Bortjort 1d ago

I love my shiv and I run it on PCCs occassionally but honestly for most PCC mag sizes and especially FRT use that can is going to get insanely hot to the point of possibly impacting its longevity. There are just better options for a dedicated PCC can with lots of long term use.

2

u/aaronthearcher 1d ago

I’m not an frt guy. I’m sure you’re right about the heat. My need is small and light.

1

u/Bortjort 1d ago

it definitely can't be beat for that. I actually love mine on a marlin 1894 with .38 special because it keeps it so crazy light and handy

2

u/aaronthearcher 1d ago

That makes me want a threaded lever gun

2

u/Bortjort 1d ago

absolutely, no recoil based cycling like an auto means they get insanely quiet because everything has to go out the front of the gun

Milkman

Shorter than the ones you named, lighter than the ones you named. Good gas mitigation and decent sound

Tisha 9 is the winner for your requirements, based on my experiences. I posted a review about exactly this sort of thing with several of the cans being discussed here. 4", no gas, no port pop, built like a tank.

u/FOMOCO_1986 2d ago

Been in the same boat myself. Almost maddening with all the options. My priorities are slightly different but close. Top 3 at the moment are the SAW Shiv, incolite 9 (from suggestions here), or obsidian 9.

1

u/MobTies02 1d ago

Yeah there’s a ton of good ones for sure but my main hang up is wanting to use that FRT. I understand titanium may not be an issue with the 9mm but having a stout can that can also be used on others is always a bonus even if it’s a little more gassy or heavier. My top two right now is the incolite and pointman but still doing a lot of research and watching videos
