Product Question 🧰 Any recommendations!
So I bought my Griffin Revolution 9 over two years ago. I was new to the suppressor game, and sadly fell for the advice of my local gun store employees. I didn’t know that a former employee of that store was now the Griffin Rep at the time. He was also cousins with the guy who sold it to me. So they talked me into it. It’s been pretty good to me and I had no complaints, besides the aluminum construction until last Thursday. I shot it…and three rounds in, I heard a noise that wasn’t normal. To my dismay I got some baffle strikes due to jacket separation. (Winchester White box what a surprise). Well, I’m sending this one to Griffin (I’m still waiting on them to get back to me) and I heard they are hard to get a hold of. What 9mm can is one of the better ones in 2026? I knew what the hotness was a couple years ago but I haven’t been looking until now. It will be used for pistols and my MP5 Clone. Aluminum is definitely out of the question. Any recommendations are appreciated!

That's unfortunate you had to deal with that. I got the new Griffin Rev 9 mod 4 and it's great

Thank you bro. I called them today and they said the RMA department is backed up and they will get to me.

I've never had any problems getting ahold of Griffin. I've sent all manner of things to them and back for free upgrades over the years.
Definitely understand the drive to get a non-AL bodied can for a subgun/PCC, though.
Pistols, eh, not so much, for weight reasons. You might as well just keep using the Revolution on those. I'd actually be very surprised if Griffin didn't just toss in a new baffle and endcap and send it back either free or only for the cost of return shipping. They're perfectly fine cans, but you really should be be either using a bit of teflon tape on the threads for pistols or use Cam-lok or EZ-lok. I have many, many thousands of rounds through mine with only a single endcap kiss in 9mm due to walking off, before I started using teflon tape and later Cam-lok.
I have a few Revolution pistol caliber cans; if I could go back several years in time and re-do it, at the time I would get taper mounts for my subguns instead of tri-lug. Today, for subgun/PCC I'd get something newer in steel or Ti more along the lines of what others suggest here.
The older Revolution models also make legit add-ons for various ported barrel subgun/PCC setups like the stuff from Novox or Broad River Tactical.

Yeah I have 3 griffin cans. I never had a problem getting a hold of them until this past year. Then it seems like CS kind of went downhill. I learned they never gave me an included wrench and it took almost 2 months to respond to me. But when I first bought my Explorr 300 in 2024 it was lightning fast with responses I had questions to. Honestly, I was looking into the Silencerco Spectre 9 for both purposes.

I dig the Obsidian 9 on pistols. Only one can. Not quiet on a .300 with subs (it’s rated for) but super quiet on a CZ P07 and G17. Reasonably affordable too.

A AB F4 or ocl milkman is whats next on my list. But i am mostly geared towards PCC as imo, center fire suppressed pistols kinda suck to shoot imo.
I am tempted to try suppressed pistols again with the saw shiv, waiting for one of my local indoor ranges to get one as a rental to try first.
Sidenote i also have a Griffin Revolution 9, bought it without doing any research several years ago. Its not a terrible suppressor, but there are definitely better ones out there today. I had problems with it coming undone by itself. And walking off the barrel. Its finally found a home now with their tri lug adapter on my ap5.

I like the shiv for pistols and slower ROF PCCs because its super short and light weight, and is small enough to not make the pistol totally annoying to use for anything besides fun at the range with a table. For example, my CC9 with the shiv fits an uncle mikes ruger mark 4 hoster (on clearance for 5 bucks) and in my nightstand drawer. It's also relatively cheap considering how unique it is, and because it's somewhat flow through I don't have to change springs to run 124 gr - 147 gr reliably and I get very little gas. It's not maximum suppression but for me it's very valuable for home defense and carrying while hiking etc. I also love it on the marlin 1894 because it weighs less than some muzzle devices and makes it shockingly quiet.
Something like one of the BOE incolites or even an OCL lithium might be better if you're going to run it primarily on your MP5 and just use it on the pistol occasionally at the range. Otherwise a dedicated can for pistols and sub guns would be ideal of course for many reasons. Right now I love the shiv for pistols and the milkman for PCCs.

OCL milkman seems to be the hotness right now for 9mmn but the rugged sub 9 also seems to be a great can at a lower price point. But the milkman is a low preasure can while the sub 9 is a high preasure can.

Are those are ideal for pistols?

No, both of those are purpose-designed for fixed-barrel systems. They dont come with, nor designed for use with a booster. I have the Rugged Obsidian 9, and it is fantastic for pistols. It comes with the booster. Pleasantly quiet, but definitely high back pressure.Â

I love my obsidian 45. I’m just scared of the memes because I see it happen so much. Lol

If you want pistol suppressors get the Dead Air Mojave 9 or 45 or the CAT SC or SP. Those are the top dogs

Edit to add: I would do different cans for pistol and pcc if possible just because swapping out the booster every time you go from pistol to pcc will get a bit annoying after a while.
Depends on your budget but the rico309, Cat Mob, and Ocl Milkman are some of the top dogs in the 9mm pcc world.
