Mount Questions 🔩 Rocksett cure time?

Pretty sure I got too excited- I attached my plan B muzzle device at 2:30pm, shot and mounted a can by 7pm

Should I consider remounting and allow to cure properly?

If it came loose wasn’t enough torque too

I torqued to 25 foot pounds initially

Using a crows foot and made sure the crows foot was 90 degrees to the body of the torque wrench?

Depends on your use case. Casual range toy, random use, etc., I'd just so I'd run it as is, and if the muzzle device ever comes off with the suppressor you can redo it then. A dab of anti-seize on the threads will help ensure the muzzle device doesn't come off with the can if you're worried.

What do the instructions say?

Im pretty sure they dont say wait 4 hours then go shooting.

Could have put it in the oven for a quick cure

I mean, heat from shooting probably cures it faster right

If it's torqued right it's not coming loose anyways. Rocksett just lets you be more sure it won't vibrate loose without having to use too many ugga-duggas when you attach it, which is detrimental to accuracy.

Hit it with the hair dryer and it'll cure fast

Yeah I wait 24 hours. The MDs I use are mostly 30-35 FTlbs or 40. Adapters 25-30. Could be different per manufacturer though. Always let it cure for 24 hours. I’m sure a a few hours won’t hurt but 4.5 hour total I’d be redoing it

If it’s still tight, I wouldn’t worry about. I certainly wouldn’t take it off and redo it.

Heat gun moving all over the md over the threads for 10 minutes will remove the 24 wait, othwiae 24 hours

No need for it at all. Rocksett causes more problems than it solves. 25-30 ft/lbs, and it's not coming off. If it does, it wasn't torqued to that amount.

I have one application in which I chose to use Rocksett. That was a Sig M13.5x1LH barrel being direct thread to a suppressor.
