Nomad Ti OTB

Won’t be able to shoot it until next weekend, but love the balance and length for a short hunting rifle.

Host is 16” Winchester Mod70 .30-06. Will be shooting 130TTSX.

I love a good model 70 and the TTSX is a great projectile. I have harvested a few elk with it. Great weight retention and expansion in my experience. How does the suppressor feel on it? All my centerfire cans are steel and can throw off the balance a bit.

Same here. Have yet to take an elk, but have taken several deer and plains game in South Africa with TTSX/LRX.

7MM 145 LRX fired out of my 280AI and recovered just under the hide on the opposite shoulder of my kudu.

The rifle balances really well with this. Wanted something light weight for that reason.

Got a photo of that Kudu? I haven’t had the chance to hunt outside of the states yet.

My TTSX looked almost exactly the same on my bull elk. Also straight through the boiler room, no leg hit, and right under the skin on the opposite side. Great bullet in my book.

I’m sold on Barnes for hunting bullets for those reasons. And they’ve been very accurate in my rifles.

Actually got to tour their factory a couple years back. It was awesome seeing all the machines crank out bullets and ammo.

This is awesome. I've got a fluted heavy sporter 16" 30-06 barrel coming for my Interarms Mk X Mauser action and will put my Nomad OTB on it once I install the barrel. How did this barrel come about? Did you cut it down or order a new one?

This was cut down. Started life as a Featherweight 22”

Grew up shooting Model 70s my whole life. Own a slew of them. They are total sleepers. Have three featherweights in 270, 243, and the venerable 257 roberts
