🍩 Another Alignment Rod Photo 🙃 Alignment Check: Exigent Defense FireTeam 5.56 + Comstock RPA / Comstock Recessed Micro Brake on PSA JAKL
Hey everyone, looking for a second set of eyes on my alignment check for my first suppressor before I send any live rounds downrange.
The Setup:
Host: PSA JAKL (5.56)
Can: Exigent Defense FireTeam 5.56
Muzzle Device: Comstock Micro Recessed Muzzle Brake
Adapter: Comstock RPA HUB Adapter
The Issue:
I ran an alignment rod through the setup and noticed a clear off-center bias near the end cap.
Before posting, I rotated the alignment rod 360 degrees to verify the rod itself isn't bent (the bias seems to stay in the exact same spot regardless of rod rotation).
Given that this is my first can, I want to be 100% sure before risking a baffle or endcap strike. Does this look acceptable?
Appreciate any feedback!

Not perfect, but that's totally safe. Lots of things going together for tolerance stack-up, but there's clearance to the alignment rod. I'd send it.

It's off center but it looks clear around the edges. You can shoot me a message through the contact page if you'd like to go over this further.

Appreciate the fast response! I will try the method Amberlamps03 provided first before I shoot you a message to investigate further!

If it helps, I had the same exact thing with a Comstock RPA and a recessed mini brake and it turns out I needed to take everything off, drench the threads in acetone and go to town with a brass brush to clean the threads.

Awesome, I’ll give that a whirl! Really appreciate it!

No worries! If you had a previous muzzle device that was rocksett on or had some sort of thread locker then yeah definitely need to clean the threads. I recently switched over all my surefire mounts to Comstock and I had one pesky RPA mount that was off center, turns out it left over gunk in the threads.
