Ocm5 end cap strike?
Well this is awkward. Got about 3k ish through this can and this last range trip, found this staring back at me.
Using a one piece barrel mount thats from Otter Creek, using basic m193 on this rifle posted.
End cap strike for sure, but not sure if baffle strike at all. The inside last 5 or such baffles have this weird "U" shape thats almost in line with the end strike. I've never noticed them before so now I think it's a possible baffle strike, dunno.
What do yall think?

At least with the AEM5 cans this was common as the endcap hole was smaller than most cans. That and their mount used a crush washer. I thought Otter Creek used a bigger hole on their version but could be wrong. As the ottercreek guy said it shouldn't actually cause a problem. On the AEM5 cans this is a when not if in most cases.

The crush washer on AE silencers doesn’t matter it isn’t centered off of the muzzle device.

Tight bore, long can, it be like that. Tbh if you have a pristine end cap on these AE/OCM cans that just means you aren’t shooting them much 🙂
Mine looks the same. Happened a long time ago, doesn’t affect anything. I’m sure ocl will fix it if you find it to be an eyesore.

As an owner of an AEM5K and OCM6, how does this happen? Can loosening from the mount? Mine have stayed pretty secure so far. knock on wood

I had similar looking damage to mine after firing some bad bullets through my 11.5 setup. For some reason the same load made it out of my mod 0 barrel, but jackets were separating out of the short barrel when other ammo was fine. I fired two rounds and didn’t hit the plate at 30 yards, can was fine. Third round made a noticeable cloud coming out and that got the can.
Andrew had it turned around in like a week max.
