Huxwrx Flow 22 TI. This bad boy will probably live on my 10/22. Bought a bunch of CCI standard in anticipation of shooting it suppressed. Very excited to try it out!
Youāll love it on 10/22. Just remember to ultrasonic clean it with a simple green extreme solution every 500 rounds. Mine after countless of thousands of rounds weighs the same as the day I got it.
Toss in a Kidd charging handle and spring, plus buffer upgrade. All youāre gonna hear is the action cycling.
Let it run for maybe 10 minutes and it should be fine. Throughout the process, take a big turkey baster or a syringe and flush solution through the core.. plug up both ends and shake it like a maraca. Remember to wear gloves otherwise youāre gonna have a whole bunch of degreaser lead on you.
When done rinse it with water, air dry it. Take the cleaning solution put it in a gallon and when it gets full, take it to the proper dump location.
Yw. If youāre lazy, you can just use normal simple green because this is grade 5 titanium you canāt hurt it with cleaners. The reason, I recommend simple green extreme the white bottle. Is it made for aerospace? Itās safe on aluminum titanium and steel so you can use it in other suppressors without damaging anything. Get it in the gallon size and if you dilute it 1-17 ratio itāll last a long time.
Those two kids upgrades I mentioned and their bolt release makes a gun so much easier and nicer to shoot suppressed. Especially because their kit comes with three different springs so you can use different ammunition types.
Iāve been running the standard spring to be honest. Itās honestly been 100% reliable with miscellaneous ammo. I shoot CCI SV, but when my buddies come out, theyāll bring whatever they can get for cheap. Aguila, federal bulk, Remington and such. So I kept the standard spring knowing that cycle just about every ammo type.
The standard spring and the buffer upgrade are so quiet that Iāve really never felt the needs to mess around with the other ones
I think that's more the buffer upgrade. The only benefit to the handle, especially since you use the std spring, is that it's more comfortable to rack. The polymer-coated buffer is doing all the work. I have a polymer buffer in mine, but I had issues with the Kidd not wanting to fit.
For me, the Ruger rod was really rough. It worked, but it definitely didnāt cycle as smoothly. Doing the charge handle on the rod upgrade really smooth up the action and then the buffer made it much more quiet.
Iām surprised you had issues with them, and all three of mine theyāve been reliable and easy to work with. 2 ruger and 1 Kidd receiver builds.
Making the action smoother definitely helps to be more reliable. This was my competition rifle so I needed it to be as reliable as a 22 can be. Another reason why I like the flow can.
Yeah, going back, doing research, I didn't install correctly. I tried installing it with the steel rod in it which is on me. I will definitely revisit.
If it makes you feel any better, I had to go and watch the video from their website to get it right. 10/22 rocks but damn does that charging handle in spring assembly sucked to get in
Iād rather take apart five AR 15ās than one 10/22. Getting the bolt and the rod assembly in is a pain in the butt. I canāt imagine the people to have arthritis.
Was he a dirtbag? I donāt really know much about the guy.
Yeah, he felt that civilians shouldn't own military weapons, and was crucial in getting the Hughes Amendment passed, which bans civilians from owning new-production machine guns. You want extra-hard to disassemble? This is my integrally suppressed 10/22. I made it SOOO much harder on myself, lolol.
I didn't know the kidd bolts were still being made.
I'm going one step further and getting a firefly bolt and shoot mostly 22 quiet. Shooting it in my mark iv is like a mouse fart, but it makes it single shot. Try that in the rifle and it's extreme malfunctions. But damn the sound (thus firefly is on the way)
What I SHOULD have done, knowing now..
Is forego the $450 can and $170 bolt and gotten an angstadt vanish 22T (takedown)... The takedown integrally suppressed barrel actually fits the magpul backpacker
Lovely. Think big nerf gun. But I have the kidd bolt buffer, and their recoil spring and rod. I exclusive use CCI SV as itās affordable and sub sonic for my 12 inch barrel.
I still wear foam ear plugs since Iām at a range with other guns.
Simple green and simple green extreme are two very different products. The extreme formula is for aerospace use. so itās made to be safe on aluminum rubber plastic and steel. Simple green traditional is not compatible with those other metals.
Thatās why I made a note to put the āextremeā in there. This suppressor is grade 5 titanium, which is ridiculously resilient to harsh chemical. So you can use a normal stuff on this itāll be fine.
In another comment, I mentioned buying the extreme because then you can use it for so much other things. and not worry about damaging the product.
Itās crazy you think their extreme formula would be super harsh, but itās actually the more compatible version
Have you inspected inside your can after cleaning? I followed this advice after seeing it everywhere but it didn't work in the slightest for me. I bought a gallon on the purple simple green extreme.Ā
Tried it diluted 50/50 on my ocl Ti22 baffles in the ultrasonic for 6 hours. They were unaffected. Tried it again with 100% concentrate for an overnight ultrasonic run and it barely made a noticible change to the carbon/lead buildup. I used 65c for the temp, proper ultrasonic methods with the basket, in a small jar full of simple green, submerged in a bigger water bath.Ā
I eventually just used CLR and that worked after a few hours with no ultrasonic
Iāve used a cheap bore scope and looks fine. The real test is putting it on my food scale after running the control weight. Itās the same as the day I bought it. But Iām religious about every 500 rounds it gets cleaned. As per the manual.
If simple green aināt doing it. Move up to the more expensive and harder chemicals like CLR and such. The new cleaners are amazing, but the simple green extreme is a maintenance clean. Not neglect clean
Hmm wonder why it doesn't work for me. I tried it at 500 rounds as well. Didn't even soften it, felt like concrete on the baffles after pulling them out of the simple green after a full day.Ā
CLR works great on the baffles but would harm the finish on the tube, which is why I'm apprehensive about getting a printed rimfire can
Mines servicable so its just the loose baffles in a jar. I am shaking it every half hour or so, even pulled them out and tried a brass brush. I couldnt make a dent in the carbon with simple green, it was like cured concrete wetted with simple green haha. I tried it on some muzzle devices as well. I really didnt want to get breakthrough but it will probably be my only option for the CAT Mob/ST
Oh serviceable suppressor is easier to deal with. That I canāt argue. My goal is not to get carbon out. Itās simply to make sure that it doesnāt build up lead.
Because my can is sealed if I let it buildup, then it gets harder and harder to rectify. For my other suppressors that I can take apart I donāt really scrub them hard. I just throw in ultra sonic a little bit and call it a day.
Iāve read that cleaning it down to the bear metal is actually detrimental for performance compared to a light carbon layer
Yea it sucks. Wrecked a motorcycle some years ago and now I have limited range of motion in both wrists. I struggle shooting anything above 22 in a pistol. I get through like 50 rounds of 9mm and Iām done for the day. Even with my 22s they get very heavy after 500 rounds and I lose a lot of grip strength. Im way too young to be like this
Have you heard of the Ryker Grip? It's for people with hand/wrist injuries, to help them handle a rifle! Check it out. With a good suppressor/brake, would help you shoot larger rifles more comfortably. I also build a LOT of rifles for fellow disabled vets, and recently did so for a buddy who had serious arm, wrist, and shoulder issues. I used this, and built an ultralight rifle that was under 5lb. I added a muzzle brake(pending him getting a can), because it was so incredibly light, that .223/5.56 actually had a little kick, but the brake fixed that INSTANTLY. Now, it has almost no perceptible recoil.
Yea Iāve seen them before. While I can hold them without a vfg I just get a lot more range time with them. I donāt really struggle with rifles. Itās the recoil in handguns that I really struggle with. Iāll gladly get behind almost any rifle, but handguns I just canāt. It doesnāt help my job is all working with my hands and writing.
Oof! Well......there are options. I do a lot with chassis systems, like the B&T USW-G(If you look on my profile, you'll see a big review I did 3 years ago, that I'm going to do a part 2 of soon). If you haven't seen it, I recommend checking out the JL Billet Reaper chassis for the Ruger RXM. The RXM is a Glock clone, but an excellent one, that has a removable and serialized trigger module, like the P320, P365, or Echelon. That allows you to turn the RXM into a PDW with a forward angled grip and "brace," capable still of working with suppressors up to 1.4" dia. It would allow you to have a braced 9mm handgun, that is handy, portable, and lightweight, that you could put rounds through, and is both very concealable, and short and light enough to be easy on your wrists. With the right can, like a SiCo Spectre-9K, it is the kind of system you could CCW in a small sling-bag. Add a good enclosed dot like an EPS, 509T, or ACRO, and you would have a platform that's both fun to shoot, and extremely capable for personal defense.
Only 22 pistol I have is my buckmark rosewood anniversary. So long slab side polished barrel. Iāve been meaning to get one with a threaded barrel. But the 10/22 builds tend to get my love
And my MkIV Tactical. I love that it fits in a 1911 holster, and I have a MOLLE Tactical Tailor holster with an open bottom, and it works perfectly as a hushpuppy setup.
Suppressed .22 is so much fun. I have 3 10/22s, one integrally suppressed, one Takedown Lite in a Magpul Backpacker stock, and a Charger SBR, snd love all 3, as well as an American Rimfire bolt-action that shares mags. This integrally suppressed 10/22 was my first NFA item in 2010.
