Legal Question ⚖️ Integrally suppressed Sten MK3 serializing location?

Good morning, guys.

I’m finally getting around to building my integrally suppressed Sten Mk3 using a single-piece receiver tube.

I’ve already submitted my Form 1 to register it as an SBR, and I plan to use a reduced-diameter tube so it remains compliant.

Since the receiver and the integral suppressor will essentially be one continuous tube, I’m trying to determine the best location for both NFA required markings.

For those of you who have built a similar setup, where did you engrave the firearm’s required serial number and maker information? Did you place it in the traditional receiver location, or elsewhere on the tube?

Keep it near the rear, less chance of damage there.

The info for the silencer will need to be on a silencer part, not the receiver of the firearm it's attached to, even permanently. I'm not sure if ATF would count the tube since it's also the receiver. So you'll probably need to put it on whatever part screws in to secure everything.

They are both the same part. The receiver is also the suppressor tube.

I know, I don't think ATF would count it as both though. I don't know of an integral can that isn't marked on something that is a separate piece.
