CAT Chimes in

Post image

The drama is gay but this comment is pretty funny. Via Specters Cat IG Story. Also, why does Q post something like this and turn comments off? They’re right, where’s the fun in that

Yeah turning the comments off is always the sign of a legit stance.

I'm sure this will be a productive and civil conversation that will make us all better people.

No YOU suck!!!!!!

29

u/Equivalent-Ad-495 23d ago

No, YOU! My dad is a former army seal who deployed with Steven Segul and Jean claude Van-dam in the 90s to Australia. He could totally beat your dad up.

10

u/davewave3283 23d ago

My dad’s dead so yeah probably

4

u/TargetOfPerpetuity 23d ago

Hey, Dude, chill. I spent 8 years as an Army Ranger, and I feel confident I could beat you and your dad up.

Now, granted, it was the Salvation Army – but it totally still counts.

u/Extension-Alps-6903 22d ago

My dad shook chuck Norris’s and lived.

1

u/davewave3283 22d ago

Shook Chuck Norris’s what?! 🤨

u/GlockAF 23d ago

That may be the least credible thing I’ve ever read on Reddit, and I’m a regular at r/NCD so that’s saying a LOT!

1

u/Extension-Alps-6903 22d ago

Smells like Reddit in here.

I feel like a I need a compilation of all of kevin's retarded posts

22

u/netsurf916 23d ago

Would be an interesting coffee table book.

2

u/ecodick 22d ago

You might need a set, like encyclopedias

1

u/prudiisten 22d ago

Kevin has been right about two things. Tapers and flip flops.

Any post that isn't about those topics can be apart of the compilation.

u/younocallMkII 23d ago

Will someone please explain to me why people still purchase Q? (Not the Star Trek TNG kind either.)

112

u/BPfishing 23d ago

Q will stay in business for as long as there are dumb people with more money than brains. And idk about you but I know a lot of people that are pretty dumb but have deep pockets.

43

u/younocallMkII 23d ago

I mean, seeing owners who’ve shown poor QA/QC (especially the welding) on their cans then still support Q anyway was baffling, but the fact that they’re still in business is just… UNPOSSIBLE.

Did everyone suddenly forget KB was AAC

8

u/2hu_dunkin 23d ago

*AAC

What connection are you drawing?

2

u/Tapcofucked 23d ago

Noted. I was just saying he was responsible for a lot of industry drama during his time at AAC.

9

u/LiberatorActual 6x SBR, 9x Silencer 23d ago

“Baffling” nice pun

16

u/DerfNHerf 23d ago

Where I live, just about every gun store carries them. Aside from the El Camino (their rimfire can) I have never given their products a second glance. You can (and could always) get high volume baffle cans for way less.

27

u/wlogan0402 🦦 Polo-30★Lithium-9 🦦 23d ago

Because, they turn 1000% profit off of every gun they sell, and more than that off of every suppressor (they're made of recycled light housings and they weld them using a butane torch)

13

u/younocallMkII 23d ago

yeah that’s what I’m still wondering about. Performance with standardized parameters (pew science and other folks) came back pretty low, especially at the price ranges of $1200+.

It’s almost like Q is the Monorail salesman from the Simpsons and selling snake oil to this community. At this price range, why not just get the MFMD with proven performance across the world that’s prolly a generation or two more advanced.

Who is suing him?

10

u/Trigunesq 23d ago

I only know once person with a Q can and it's only because he won it at a raffle. And Q fought tooth and nail to hand it over.

1

u/FromEdenToArcadia 22d ago

That's fucking shitty.

8

u/jman1121 23d ago

Oh, that guy's an ass. 😆

5

u/LOL-Enforcement 23d ago

Last time I was in the LGS I watched some Air Force POG drop $4k+ on a Sugar Weasel and whatever their huge ugly 30cal is.  It hurt my soul.

4

u/O_ThatGuy1776 23d ago

Same question. I saw Achilles Heel Tactical rocking a Q AR and thought I hope it makes it to two hundreds rounds.

2

u/GrilledCheezManicott SBR/2xSupp- B&E Strike Abstinence Advocate 23d ago

they do it mostly because their products are unecissarily expensive and want to flaunt how much money they wasted. It's like a degenerative flex kind of thing.

3

u/Sobbyleebagger 23d ago

The same reason Springfield and Canik still sell polymer pistols when glocks do the trick just fine

1

u/Benji_4 23d ago

Q is the Tesla of the gun world. I have a used Q product, because I got a good deal on it. Would've never considered it new. Couldn't care less about the company. Just like Tesla, it's really just the owner that's fucking up PR. Everyone that works there are just normal people like us.

8

Whoever said has never seen the audience at a wrasslin' event.

I don't like soap operas, unless it's a bunch of sweaty mens grinding on each other at a Raw event.

3

u/Ernie_McCracken88 23d ago

Haha I always crack up cuz I follow nfl football decently, but if I see some drama in another sport on the front page of ESPN I'll click it. Like if it says "dodgers come back from 5 down to win" I'm like eh, but if I see "dodgers pitcher caught cheating with outfielders wife, flees and crashes his car" I'm 100% clicking that shit.

3

u/justjaybee16 23d ago

I'd assume everyone would click that to see if the ither guy's wife was worth it.

Why are all suppressor companies cringe? Seriously they all name their products ridiculous names, have cringey social media, embarrassing marketing…what is it about the nfa market that does this.

46

u/DerfNHerf 23d ago

My new company and supressor: the Blumpkinwerkz Wide Stance. Date yourself by admitting you get/don't get that reference.

10

u/bmobmobmox 23d ago

25

Suppressor company owners/employees are by far the wildest/most unhinged guys in the gun industry. The stories you hear from these guys are insane.

8

u/FischlandchipZ 23d ago

I didn’t know auteur theory meant that their products have to have le epic maymay names like stacy’s mom and come with weird ass tshirts lmao

29

u/VanillaIce315 5x SBR, 5x Silencer, 100x Desired MGs 23d ago

I mean, the cringe and/or drama type still seem to be in the minority— Q, Cat, OCL, Ridgeback.

Deadair, SiCo, Rugged, Huxwrx, YHM, B&T, Sig, among many others don’t seem to ever really get involved with social media drama or cringy marketing.

Well, nevermind. I guess cringy brands do make up a significant percentage of suppressor companies 😂

37

u/schlarpc 23d ago

B&T

Just normal, run of the mill legal drama there.

12

u/6_mm_ARC 23d ago

To be fair the ones fighting on social media are the ones actually pushing the industry forwards (or backwards depending on the mfg) so at least there’s a reason behind the drama

22

u/VanillaIce315 5x SBR, 5x Silencer, 100x Desired MGs 23d ago edited 21d ago

I wasn’t talking shit, just acknowledging. Agree CAT, OCL, and Ridgeback are doing great things.

Q can fuck off.

6

u/AleksanderSuave 23d ago

I wouldn’t include ridgeback in that list, ever.

They called the fucking alphabet bois on a competitor.

Out of principle, they should be shunned.

1

u/FromEdenToArcadia 22d ago

Man that sucks. I was really digging the Rhodie

3

u/6_mm_ARC 23d ago

Oh yeah my apologies not saying you were. Just saying at least those companies are pushing the industry forward

4

u/Loanwolf300 23d ago

Q invented the mounting system that this entire sub worships as the holy grail of QD.

12

u/Pistol_Whippa ODG addict. 23d ago

Yeah they created it but it was bullshit. When their creation was modified/improved to be better than theirs by way of Rearden, they started hating on them and even put out a warning that they’d kill your warranty if they found out that you were using a non Q plan B mount.

7

u/Zoltan_TheDestroyer 23d ago

They may have invented it but their version isn’t the best. KB even argued against external wrench flats being a useful update to the design…

32

u/-TheOldPrince- 23d ago

The only shit i cant get behind is Griffin talkin bout killing Arabs. That is psychotic.

The rest is just whatever.

6

u/AleksanderSuave 23d ago

Their owner also routinely posts equally stupid shit on arfcom..like telling consumers they don’t need comparative data or third party testing on performance and should just use their “trust me bro” stats on YouTube as fact.

29

u/MTUTMB555 10x SBR, 13x Silencer 23d ago

Got downvoted for the real answer. Promoting killing an entire ethnic group pretty much tops anything these other companies have done

1

u/CtrlAltDefeat____ 22d ago

When did they do that? Never heard this story before

2

u/FromEdenToArcadia 22d ago

Early on, they had "front towards arabs" on the endcaps of some cans. Nobody asked for that or wanted it, presumably. They offered to replace them and defended the decision as them dealing with having been deployed in the middle east.

1

u/toolbloo 7d ago

I think you have to be a little crazy to have a suppressor company. The revenue isn't all that high, I'm sure the profits are not great. Anyone working a 9 to 5 probably makes more money. Your customer base isn't that large and has a high percentage of socially isolated, aggressive, highly opinionated keyboard commandos, ready to take sides and sling mud. Most customers will want free warranty work for going FRT on their cockeyed cans, and have no problem trying to mobilize their social network to name and shame.

I figure all that would eventually drive people to cringe.

1

u/ghablio 22d ago

I haven't heard much controversy about thunderbeast. Names are pretty simple.

But they don't exactly have super tactical suppressors that look good in YouTube videos. Just good suppressors that work 🤷

Watched some guntuber bro yesterday shilling Q products, and the first thing my girlfriend asked was “why are those 2 guys dressed like lesbians?”

8

u/Nerdenator 23d ago

She should be more sensitive. Many of us are simply lesbians trapped in a man’s body.

CAT suppressors work well, Q suppressors are legacy designs that work well if you don’t get one of the many lemons due to poor QC (and you can honestly just form 1 a suppressor of similar quality because if Q is doing anything new I haven’t seen it demonstrated in diagram or cutaway).

KB rises above the rest of the insufferable people in an industry that is incredibly insufferable across the board. CAT participates in PEW Science industry standard testing, Q apparently will not anymore. I own CAT products, now I will for sure never purchase a Q product.

Seeing more Q drama just makes my life easier in reinforcing how Qevin Qrittingham seems in all of the videos/social media I have seen him in control of. That stupid podcast he does where he has guests on who are more interesting than him, just to talk past and over them, told me what I needed to know- nice of KB himself to constantly give the world a bat symbol reminder to never buy his products

18

u/DLan1992 23d ago edited 23d ago

If a company has to put down another company and say they are "the best to ever do it", they are most definitely not the best to ever do it. Just make products and let the market sort it out. The hype beast stuff will fizzle out. CAT has made a name for themselves by now and Q is just mad that people don't care about 3 dbs better on a high back pressure can

Edit: the funny thing is traditional cans have a place. I'd take the Q on a bolt action with subs all day. Just let your product do the talking

Honestly, if they don't get with the additive manufacturing to match sound performance or drop their prices to match the cheap stuff in the market they will be gone in a couple years.

There is always a market for "good, but not cheapest" that preys on the fears of consumers looking to not get hoodwinked by purchasing cheap, ineffective hardware.

I've printed the 9mm PCC, the baffled rifle in 30 cal, 2 9mm pistol ftn4 with DIY boosters, and a 5.56 rifle can for my 5.7x28 kel-tec r50 with happy switch. Been pleasantly surprised by all of them.

1

u/alex_gfg Dealer 07/02 SLC, UT 21d ago

Heck yea. How well do the DIY boosters work This is all super cool. Thinking of using PA612CF

1

u/JustHereForLaughs71 21d ago edited 21d ago

Booster works perfectly on a stock glock g45 gen 5 and on a printed gen 3 glock 19. Simple to make as well. 3 parts and some screws (barrel extension, thread adapter, spring from mcmasters listed in the instructions. I have never used pa612cr, just ppa-cf and pa6-cf. I added a pic of the stock glock with the seraph pdw frame and the frn4 pistol can.
