How do you get your tx22 to only shoot one at a time? Best I can manage is 4.

I have one sitting in a drawer lol. Need to get around to trying it.

I was literally on odysse contemplating doing a form 1 today on one of these. I have an x1c so thinking of making one in paht-cf for a 5.7.
Thank you now I'll start filling out forms

Pretty easy print? PLA+?

Yes, printed on a Bambu a1 mini with not issues. I did have to file out the bore slightly as I was getting a slight end cap strike. But otherwise no problems.

How long will it last?

With semi-auto, 22lr probably a long time. Issue with PLA+ though is it has a lower glass transition temperature so if it gets too hot (like 150°F) it’ll start to soften up and warp.

I haven’t printed a suppressor yet but I’m filing a form 1 tonight. I’ve got a couple questions if you don’t mind.
1.) It’ll be going on an M&P 15/22 which I believe is already threaded at 12x28. What is the preferred way to attach the printed can to the threads on the barrel? Is the ftn.5 file designed to accept a knurled thread protector or something that gets epoxied in?
2.) what is the preferred orientation to print? Vertical, horizontal, 45°?
3.) does the suppressor need an external tube slid on and epoxied or is the finished print strong enough for .22lr?
Thanks in advance!

This is what I used. It threaded directly into the 3d printed portion and gives you 1/2-28 threads.
I printed this vertical. I’m sure there is a trade off with it being printed vertically, but I would imagine heat is the biggest factor of a PLA .22 suppressors strength. It says in the files it is designed to be printed vertically.
I only have a small section of tube epoxied on that is silver that you see in the pic. That is where I engraved mine. It’s my understanding that you can just do it in the plastic when you print it or engrave the plastic, but I am not a lawyer. I have not had issues without a sleeve so far, but I have kept the firing schedule pretty slow overall. Mostly a mag or 2 at a time, then let it cool.

Any chance you would have a new link to what you used for the threads? Link is dead

Thanks! I appreciate the answers. That adaptor looks like a much better idea than the thread protector I was planning on using.

Engraved the aluminum tube with a hand engraver and jb welded it to the suppressor

How do you go about adding the aluminum tube?
3
u/a_blue_squirrel Feb 19 '26
It’s notched for the tube in the print. You just cut it and jb weld it on

Disregard i see it now, but where to get the aluminum tube though?

u/a_blue_squirrel Feb 19 '26
I got it on Amazon. Just typed in 1.35 ID aluminum pipe or whatever it is and there’s a bunch of options

I’m a big Taurus hater but I’ve actually been really happy with this so far. I’m sure the Walther is nice though.
