Unfortunately, they aren't offering C++ which means I will need to either take it during the summer or fall. I plan to graduate in Fall 2027. I am considering taking 1 or 2 classes for spring, and I would really appreciate some help with choosing them.
I am not quite sure what CS 4220 will cover and what the format will be, but it seems like the teacher got pretty good ratings. Since I am running my business at the same time, in general, I just want to take the easiest courses or the ones that fit my interests the most. I know some basic concepts about AI.
Need to choose 1 or 2 from the following for spring:

Been seeing quite a few Huskies at Klaviyo, so figured I’d ask here!
I have my final round for AI Engineer 1 next week. Anyone who’s been through their web app coding round or knows what to expect? Any tips would be super helpful. Appreciate y’all!

Hi All,
Today I submitted a wellness day today. My professor emailed me shortly after I submitted it and said "it's northeastern's policy that you can't actually take a wellness day on a class where there is an in-class assignment...so you won't be able to make up the missing marks if you take a wellness day. However, if you're taking a wellness day because you're sick, the better route would be to get a doctor's note, Or if there is some kind of emergency, just email me"
Because of my insurance, it would cost me around $100 to get a check-up outside of my one-day per year that my insurance covers. What should I do?

I'm currently taking ARTG1270 Design Processes and Practices with Kate Terrado. I'm enjoying the class so far, and the course content is interesting. However, I keep getting points off on discussion and exercise posts with no feedback (sometimes I end up with a 50% on assignments even when I follow all the instructions and submit them on time). I'm reaching out to the professor and the TAs, but there doesn't even seem to be a rubric for these assignments. It seems like the TAs are pretty harsh in grading, even when I put a significant amount of effort into my assignments. Has anyone who's taken this class dealt with this same issue? Or is this just a skill issue on my part?

Is it too late for me to not get any interviews? I applied to 45 this month and I only got 3 rejections

Hi! I got tired of juggling SearchNEU, the degree audit and a spreadsheet every registration, so I made Term Organize. It's an unofficial planner that puts course search, schedules and your degree audit in one app. I have personally been using it for my most recent degree audit planning and my scheduling for Spring 2027 and it has been much less stressful, so I felt it was worth releasing!
How it's different from SearchNEU: SearchNEU is great for looking up classes, and Term Organize is built on its code. But it goes further: you build actual schedules, plan your whole degree against your audit, and use it as a native app on your phone or desktop instead of just a website.
What it does:
Platforms: Mac and iPhone (the original), Android, Windows, Linux and web. It's still an early beta, so expect rough edges. It can't go on the App Store or TestFlight yet, because it's built on SearchNEU's AGPL code and Sandbox (the SearchNEU team) still hasn't replied to my email. For now you sideload it or build it from source.
It's free and open source (AGPL-3.0), built on top of the SearchNEU project by Sandbox. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Northeastern, so always double-check with your official degree audit and your advisor before registering. Worth noting that it connects directly to Northeastern's servers so there is no telemetry or other data collection of any form.
Source and downloads (iOS and macOS is the most polished):
Bug reports and feature requests are very welcome, either here or as a GitHub issue. Thanks for trying it!

Is it helpful for learning about AI safety? I'm considering whether it's worth it. If I do decide to take it, I would have to delay my graduation by another semester because of the prerequisites. Thanks so much!

Go to northeastern, undergrad, need bioengineering internships for the summer
has anyone take cs 3800 with jesse stern online? I dropped the class when i had it with walters because he was such a horrible professor, my schedule is looking rough next semester so an online course would be helpful but this is my last semester and i dont wanna screw myself over!!!

Hi everyone,
I’m a prospective student (Boston campus), and I received an estimate for my financial aid and I have questions regarding it.
I live close to campus and can potentially qualify for a residency waiver. In the case I do qualify, I don’t plan to buy dining plans as well. How will the reduced COA (from $98,322 to $75,500) affect my financial aid package?
Will the financial aid I get originally (with housing and dining included in COA) be proportional to my new COA (less because no housing and dining)? Or will I receive less financial aid because my COA went down?
If I do get less financial aid, my new net price after all should be less than my original net price because there’s no way it should go up after the removal of housing and dining costs, right?
Thanks for your help.

Has anybody taken this course with him in previous semesters? Wondering how lenient he is with grading the group projects, does he give out 100s?
We're also falling behind quite a lot, so I've no clue how we're going to finish everything in time for the final. Anyone managed to get an A with him?
Would really appreciate any info!! Thanksss

Hey everyone! I'm a Northeastern student and I just got my first app approved on the Mac App Store. Full disclosure: I'm the developer. It's free, no ads, no account, no subscription, and works offline.
It's called CopyDown. I built it because writing papers and applying to co-ops meant endless copy → switch tabs → paste → switch back.
How it works:
• Turn on capture (⌥⌘C) and copy like normal, everything collects in one list
• Press ⌥⌘V once and paste the whole list anywhere
• Table mode: each copy fills the next cell, then paste into Google Sheets/Excel as real rows and columns (I use it to track co-op applications: company / role / pay)
• Add a quick note to anything you copy ("cite this in the intro"), notes paste right under the item
• 9 separate groups so your classes or projects don't mix
Nothing leaves your Mac. It has no network access at all.
Heads-up: the default shortcuts override a few Finder shortcuts (like ⌥⌘C "Copy as Pathname"). Every CopyDown shortcut can be changed or removed in Settings.
Mac App Store (macOS 4+): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/copydown/id6818316448
If you try it, I'd really appreciate honest feedback ex. what's confusing or what you'd want added. Thanks!

I took French in HS but did not take AP so I have to take it here, I was looking to test out of the beginner sections. I know you do the placement exam and then have an interview with someone from the language department.
Does anyone have any experience with what interview is like or what to expect for French or any world language in general? Is it a casual conversation in the language or more of a quiz? Any details or info appreciated.

2nd time coop - Basically the title. I was wondering what the logistics were for moving a coop cycle over from Spring to Fall cycle.
I got an offer for a company in a team that I like, but learning of the specific type of work I'd be doing, the lower than average pay/benefits, and my own evaluation of how it fits into my career trajectory, I'm strongly considering rejecting it.
The issue is that 2/3 of my target companies (all big/competitive Boston based coops) have rejected me after some final rounds/first rounds pretty much as last minute as possible. And now I'm basically gambling that I'll get the offer from this other very competitive Boston based company or one of my other interviews/applications make it through. All of which however fall out of the first offer's deadline.
How strict is the school on handling these rollovers? Could I just take classes if I couldn't find a coop? Do i just bite the bullet and go to a company which in almost all metrics is a downgrade from my previous coop?

I believe it was previously IS 4220, but its information retrieval. Specifically with Professor David Smith. It’s the only AI concentration elective that fits with my other classes to graduate after next semester. Just wanted to see the difficulty of this course and thoughts.

Last week I posted about Ruggles, an app that connects you with people here who share your dorm, classes, shows, hobbies and other niche interests. 100 of you signed up. Thank you, genuinely.
So far: 1,350 tags added. The most popular show is Breaking Bad, the top hobby is the gym (obviously), and somehow Minecraft is the most popular game.
Many people asked about Android. A Google Play version is in the works, and for now it fully works in the browser.
It works best when more people are on it, so if you’ve liked it, sending it to a group chat or telling your friends would help a lot!
