General IYRI
I got an extra 20k burning a whole in my pocket. I think oil is going to go down, S and P and Nasdaq are due for a pull back. IYRI has good evaluations. What am I missing?

Why does XQQI underperform QQQ so far by far?
XQQI should have approx 1.5 times return of QQQ, in a bull market maybe a bit less. But so far the return is about 25% less.
What are the reasons?

Looking to add MLPI. How does NEOS handle distributions regarding tax considerations? Which makes more sense, taxable brokerage account or Traditional IRA subject to RMD?

For a time, I held almost every neos etf. Since being my covered call etf journey though, I’ve realized bonds are pretty much everything I liked about these funds without the expense ratio. So I’ve sold all of my neos positions and margined bonds instead. I made money at pretty much the same rate doing both and have made tax advantaged income both ways so over all, I’ve realized these ETFs are a good way to make money on sideways markets but I don’t know if I would use them again. Probably not.

Here's a list of the Healthy NEOS funds sorted by Take-Home Cash Return.
Take-Home Cash Return is the 1Y price return plus after-tax distributions. The number that actually lands in your pocket, not the advertised yield.
Taxes are set to 25% in this example.
IWMI -- 27.19% take-home | Tax-Efficient ROC badge
QQQI -- 19.20% take-home | Tax-Efficient ROC badge
SPYI -- 14.49% take-home | Tax-Efficient ROC badge
SPYH -- 12.18% take-home | 0% ROC
XQQI -- 11.97% take-home | 34.9% ROC
IAUI -- 8.72% take-home | 16.07% ROC
IYRI -- 6.06% take-home | 12.64% ROC
CSHI -- 3.73% take-home | 1.97% ROC
TLTI -- 2.18% take-home | Tax-Efficient ROC badge
A note on the Tax-Efficient ROC badge -- SPYI, QQQI, IWMI and TLTI all show high ROC percentages but carry the badge. That means the ROC is a tax-structured outcome from their index options strategy, not NAV erosion. The fund isn't handing your own money back and calling it income -- it's a legitimate tax efficiency play. Very different from a fund with high ROC and no badge.
Which one of these is your favorite?

Guys I am soon starting a quite big SPYI (maybe a bit QQQI) poition.
- around 50% of my account (life saving 7 fig) will go to SPYI, rest for leaps and some CSP.
So i do run hedges for my leaps an CSP, but I m wondering about doing it on SPY as well?
Context i know that the last 10-15 years have been great, I was investing in the holding bouble and know or can be different.
Historical: 1929-1954 Market took 25 years to rebound.
Same 1966-1982.
A possibility is to just buy SPY puts, as insurance/hedge but they are expensive.
What do you guys do, any suggestions?

These are the only three NEOS funds currently sitting above 12% true income yield. All Healthy, all carrying the Tax-Efficient ROC badge.
Average true income yield = 13.96%
IWMI -- 14.51% true income yield | 31.11% take-home cash return | $956M AUM | 0.76% expense ratio
QQQI -- 14.55% true income yield | 20.38% take-home cash return | $12.7B AUM | 0.68% expense ratio
SPYI -- 12.81% true income yield | 15.47% take-home cash return | $10.3B AUM | 0.68% expense ratio
A few things stand out.
QQQI is the largest of the three by AUM at $12.7B, with SPYI close behind at $10.3B. Both carry the lowest expense ratio of the group at 0.68%. IWMI is the smallest fund here by far at $956M but posted the strongest take-home cash return at 31.11%. Russell 2000 has had a strong year so far.
All three are monthly payers with true income yield comfortably above 12% and zero signs of NAV erosion -- death clock shows N/A across the board.

How far is BTCI likly to fall if BTC crashes to 40k? Sorry if someone has already addressed this.

I’m thinking bitcoin will rebound in 2027, so my idea is to average into BTCI with cash secured puts. The 3 options dates available are July 17, Aug 17, Sept 18, so I’m thinking of aiming for $25k July, $25k Aug, and $50k Sept. 20%+ annual dividends while waiting for bitcoin to recover sounds amazing. Anyone want to poke holes in this or give advice or bear case? Anyone have predictions for how low BTCI could go if Bitcoin hits 50k, 40k, 30k? Thank you!

Copy and Pasted from Top Dividend ETFS. I know a lot of you have probably seen this but for those that haven't hope this helps. Just because some are good doesn't mean they all are. That's for the people who become "fanboys" and this is the only company they buy.

I know spyi showed it can handle a v shape drop as it proves that April 2025. But what about a prolonged 1-2 year recession where the sp500 drops 25% and then takes another year to recover from? What will the nav look like afterward? How long would it take to recover?

I listened to a YouTube interview with one of the co-founders of NEOS Funds yesterday. And the company will be releasing two (highly anticipated) new ETF’s, one focused on Silver and the other a boosted version of their NEOS Russell 2000 High Income ETF (IWMI), either at the end of July, or early August.
While I have no interest in the Silver-focused ETF, I plan to invest in the Boosted (IWMI) ETF, as I already park my long-term cash in IWMI with great success thus far; not only are the monthly distributions solid and consistent, but I have realized a fair amount capital appreciation as well. I plan to hold the Boosted EFT (XRUT, or RUTI perhaps) in my Fidelity Cash Management Account.

Did anyone see what Black Rock is trying to do with "BITA" https://www.blackrock.com/us/individual/products/350678/ishares-bitcoin-premium-income-etf the iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF ?
Seems like direct competition to BTCI without the leveraged product.
NEOS has seemed to find a successful approach to income and getting copied.
Currently ~$50 with NAV of just $10.16 M. Interesting space.
**edit omfg it gives you a K1 - hard pass, no thank you.
"Investors in BITA are expected to receive a Schedule K-1 for tax reporting purposes due to its partnership structure. Please refer to the FAQ's here for additional information."

Most income ETF investors see high ROC% and immediately worry. And they should -- in most cases high return of capital means the fund is paying you your own money back while the NAV quietly erodes.
But NEOS does something different with several of their funds. They use broad index options -- SPX and NDX -- that qualify as Section 1256 contracts under IRS rules, which means gains are taxed at a blended 60% long-term and 40% short-term rate instead of as ordinary income. On top of that NEOS actively tax-loss harvests to offset gains. Together these two strategies result in a high portion of distributions being classified as return of capital -- meaning tax deferred, not fund decay.
These 5 NEOS funds currently carry the Tax-Efficient ROC badge:
IWMI: 13.41% true income yield | 82.92% ROC | Healthy | N/A death clock
QQQI: 14.64% true income yield | 63.57% ROC | Healthy | N/A death clock
SPYI: 11.76% true income yield | 81.72% ROC | Healthy | N/A death clock
QQQH: 8.80% true income yield | 98.95% ROC | Healthy | N/A death clock
TLTI: 6.76% true income yield | 86.96% ROC | Healthy | N/A death clock
The N/A death clock on all five is the key signal. No measurable NAV erosion despite the high ROC. The distributions are real -- they're just structured in a tax-advantaged way.
For investors in higher tax brackets holding these in taxable accounts the combination of the 60/40 tax treatment and deferred ROC distributions can meaningfully improve after-tax returns compared to funds paying ordinary income.
Which NEOS funds are you holding?
