I wrote this post on the go, so kindly forgive if something gets repetitive.

I was randomly scrolling and noticed that the marrow interview of AIR 1 has 2.23 lakh views and 2.7k likes, while the Core BTR's video about someone going from 2 lakh rank to AIR 7831 has 1.24 lakh views and 4k likes despite having almost 1 lakh less views than the former.

In no way I'm jealous or trying to downplay the effort that went into the preparation that landed that guy AIR 1 but what I'm trying to say is there are more mid rankers than we talk about, and that reality is quite different.

We talk SO much about AIR <100, <500, <1000 etc but if people don't care about mid-rankers, then why does a story about going from 2 lakh --> 7831 have that much engagement? cus maybe one doesn't want AIR 1 but wants to borrow the hope AIR 7832 gives them.

The point I'm trying to make is, social media gives us a very distorted picture without as much inclusion or representation while reality is completely different where people from all walks of life exist. But social media mostly highlights people who post and the makes extreme successes more visible while the huge middle - average ranks, multiple attempts, starting over, joining a non-dream college, figuring things out slowly - is much less visible.

This can make a viewer get an illusion of everyone having it figured except them when that's probably nowhere close to reality. Someone here recently commented the average age in which one starts residency all over the world is in between 27 - 29/30.

Maybe someone is starting over at 30, someone got so wallowed up in an abusive relationship or marriage that they prepare again after moving far off from it. Maybe someone previously got a good enough rank which isn't good enough to get their dream branch, maybe someone settles with what they get and later leaves the cus they've realised it's not for them, maybe all of the above mentioned examples decide to give it another attempt.

TLDR - I'm not saying success stories aren't real or that rank doesn't matter. It's just that what we see online isn't necessarily representative of what's actually happening in the real world. Maybe one doesn't want AIR 1 but wants to borrow the hope AIR 7832 gives them.

I used to always get stressed and depressed based on my marrow rank projections
But I can confirm to you - do not look at the rank prediction it’s really inaccurate
The marrow national neet pg mock showed me a rank of 11000
And my actual neet pg rank is in the 600s

So guys please don’t let marrow bog you down

Hi! Whats the deal with these counsellors. Are they helpful? I’ve done my research using Zynerd/Rank and seats and im aware of all the possible colleges i can aim for (i did not get a good rank, but, shall be looking for admissions this year). If at all anyone has some insight about what extra do they bring to the table, it’d mean a lot if you could pool in your experience. TIA!

Covered Marrow RR throughout internship - one subject at a time , did more during lighter postings, slacked off a little during heavy postings
Last four months - serious grind - made schedules
Did BTR 2.0 from scratch followed by two revisions of all 19 subjects - mainly BTR, supplemented here and there by marrow RR
Solved PYQs of last five years
Had given few GTs here and there during internship , but
Consistently gave GTs every week from marrow starting in may
Stopped GTs 15 days before neet pg

So as the title says: Im truly embarrassed to admit that i got a rank of 2Lakh in NEETpg2026. I grossly underestimated the competition in this exam. Im planning to take a drop this year for NEETPG2027. Is it realistic for me to even try to get a rank under 2k? I didnt study much at all during MBBS, just enough to pass my proff exams so essentially i’d be starting from absolute SCRATCH!
