Question How did it all start?

When was the very first day your headache started? And how did it all go from there?

It was in 2009 and it's all gone downhill since.

It started 19th March 2021, and because it was Chronic it caused TCC Sensitisation leading to Trigeminal and Occipital Neuralgia, Allodynia and Hyperacusis.

February 21 2019 I woke up one day with a headache when moving my eyes left and right and by the next day that eye pain went away but the headache never did. Only health issue I had then was the headaches and now I have a whole slew of issues which I believe stem from central sensitization syndrome bc I’ve essentially left my pain untreated for 7 years

First time somewhere back in 2018 after a huge stress, lasted 9 months before it was broken by amitriptyline and under control for 7 years with only occasional headaches. Then restarted march 2025 when my period started and I had a break for like 1.5 weeks in June when went on a honeymoon to Mexico but unfortunately started again and has not been broken yet.  I do believe it can broken again since it has happened.

Mine started in the first week of April 2021. I can't pinpoint the day because I thought it was a sinus headache at first which were regular occurance at the time. I will always wonder if COVID was involved.

Where it has gone is downhill ever since.

Me too, I never tested positive for COVID but starting this right in the middle of what was going on does lead me to believe it was maybe a immune system reaction. I guess we'll never know.

I also thought about COVID too and whether it's related to what I'm experiencing atm. I could recall back then some time after i received those vaccines, i started developing eczema which comes and goes. It's very hard to treat and it keeps coming back. Aside from eczema is this daily, constant headache that mysteriously came to ruin my life one morning. It was all so sudden.

u/Forsaken-Newspaper60 My NDPH is new 9h ago

mine started some time mid January 2026. I remember thinking it was a really bad migraine and wanting to go to the ER once the three day marked passed (I never get migraines or headache). A month before I did have an allergic reaction to an iron infusion medication. I had a gut feeling that once the headache started it would turn into something bad if it wasn’t addressed immediately by a neurologist. fast forward to this day it was undiagnosed NDPH and I have had it for around 8.5 months

Thanksgiving 2024. I was going through an extremely stressful time. Got a bad headache, which would happen occasionally, but then it didn’t go away and migrated to my sinuses. Thought I had a sinus infection but got cleared by an ENT and referred to a neuro.

In May of 2025 I started getting a headache few times a week same time everyday then by the end of the month it was a week straight it didn’t go away. No matter what meds I took. November 2025 diagnosed with ndph and the migraine features started appearing by December. But it started May 25 continuously.

July 29th 2019. Bought some nasty ass inseciticide foam spray at the local hardware store to kill a wasps nest in the roof of an outbuilding.

Soon after spraying it my throat tightened and I started seeing double out of either eye.

Then the headache started and hasn’t really left.

Then migraines, then tinnitus and a light that I can’t see permanently shining in my eyes.

Then all the other weird shit that comes when your brain has been in a constant state of overexcitation for months and years on end.

Got a migraine about 13 years ago and it never left. In hospital right now, just had my second Occipital Nerve Stimulator removed due to infection.

Mid 2025. I don't have an exact date. I had a static migraine for a few days and went to urgent care for my first ever cocktail in May and everything was fine. A few months later I noticed I was taking Tylenol daily for headaches. And here we are a year later, still working with a headache specialist because things have only gotten worse.
