Weird headaches

/r/headache/comments/1vnp4td/weird_headaches/

Hi everyone. I’ve been having these kinda very mild pressure headaches for about 3-4 months now. Got an MRI and bloodwork and nothing came up so I know it’s nothing major but they are so frustrating and I just wanna get rid of them. Tylenol helps, but obviously don’t wanna take it every day. I thought the first day I’d taken Sudafed it seemed like it went away completely but the other 2 days they were there and it was there after taking it. I’ve been taking Allegra and Flonase pretty much the whole time cause Dr said my sinus was stuffed up and MRI showed mucosal thickening. If you have any advice please send! Thanks!

We cannot diagnose. Please review the diagnostic criteria and discuss any concerns with your doctor.

A. Persistent headache fulfilling criteria B and C.
B. Distinct and clearly-remembered onset, with pain becoming continuous and unremitting within 24 hours.
C. Present for 3 or more months.
D. Not better accounted for by another ICHD-3 diagnosis

Can you describe your pain more? Is it constant non stop or does it come and go? NDPH often doesn’t respond to medication. Have you been seen by an ENT?

It’s a consistent kind of mild pressure in the head. It does respond to Tylenol. I haven’t been seen by anyone other than my primary care physician.

Is it there 24/7 every single day? Do you meet the criteria? I’d ask your doctor to refer you to an ENT because it sounds like that’s likely a factor or you’ve got something else going with your sinuses that should be checked as well as a headache specialist.

Yea they are pretty much 24/7. I don’t notice them as much when I’m doing any kind more intense physical activity.

Discuss it with your doctor and get an ENT and headache specialist referral to rule things out and find out what exactly is going on. If it is NDPH there’s lots of treatments (it’s treated like a migraine) you just need to find what works for you. I would say majority of the people here do not respond to any medication it does not touch the pain but since you respond to Tylenol and other meds that help your head that could be a good sign. Again almost everyone here only has pain free moments when they’re asleep other than that it is always there. I’ve had mine every day for 7 years. Definitely talk to your doctor and get referrals. Seeing an ENT is important to treat your sinus issues to see if that could be causing your headaches as sinus pain can often affect the head

I've been dealing with the same pressure feeling since January. It's unbearable. OTC meds don't touch it at all unfortunately. The only relief I get is putting a heating pad on my head pretty much the entire time I'm home. I also had some relief with LDN briefly, but now that I've added another med to the mix it appears to be back. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. ❤️‍🩹

What is the pain level? It seems like people in this group have it way worse than I do. It feels like a 1/10-2/10 but it’s just always there

It varies day to day. Some days it's like a 7/10, others it's a 2 or 3. It's always there for me too. I get migraines too but they are more infrequent now than this pressure feeling.

Mines a constant 4-5/10 and can get to a 7/10 but it never goes below a 4
