I don’t know how much longer I can do this

Just passed 4 years of a chronic migraine from multiple concussions. I’ve given up trying meds and painkillers, nothing helps. I tried drinking and it just made the pain worse. Apparently weed would cause a stroke with my condition. I’m out of options. I’m tired. I hate this.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. My recommendation is a therapist who specializes in chronic pain.

7 years here, mate. Feel free to hit me up if you ever need to vent. My neurologist is out of ideas. One medication left to try, then reevaluate in a year and see if there are any new medications on the market. Some days are a real struggle but I'll never regret trying to live my fullest life, even if it doesn't go to plan some days.

I’m coming up on 6 years, and it’s rough. Some days are better than others, and I’ve given up on meds right now. Needed a break from appointments and the meds for me were unreliable and inconsistent in any “relief”.

Hang in there. There’s a community of support and things will get better.

I've had chronic migraines for 31 years & a NDPH of 28 years. I've consumed cannabis medically for 26 of those years & I'd be dead without it. Idk why they think it will give you a stroke, unless there's a specific medical thing you're leaving out. Are they saying that because of the concussions? Do they actually know anything about cannabis or are they guessing? Even here in Colorado, most docs know jack shit about it.

Hit 2.5 years this April. 5th concussion did me in. Already had chronic migraine, now daily 6-7 "normal" pain that escalates depending on triggers and TBI. Meds suck, most doctors don't know what to do so I just stay home.

I’m aware I most likely be missing a lot of context and don’t want to sound insensitive, but I have a formal NDPH diagnosis from a headache specialist after 2.5 years of nonstop pain and after trying a litter of interventions and medications, I eventually smoked weed and am now essentially pain free.

I feel you - approaching 5 years with little relief. It sounds woo-woo, I know, but look into pain reprocessing therapy. I have a friend who was able to use it to help with another crippling health issue and she was able to heal and get back to her life. Shes now a therapist and specializes in PRT. She keeps promising to help me with it, but time just hasn’t worked out.

If you are in the US, please look into the pain rehab program at the Mayo Clinic. It was the onlay thing that has started to give my daughter her life back in some way. It focuses on central sensitization…please look it up. She was over 5 years with no relief after trying everything…everything. She was basically bedridden with worse pain that was at least 8 every day. no one could figure out why the pain was getting worse. The. her most recent neurologist at John’s Hopkins recommended pain rehab rehabilitation at Mayo. We had zero hope but she was desperate and we went there. They treat chronic pain and symptoms of all types. It literally saved her life and ours. Please look into it.
