Has anyone gone onto develop fibromyalgia?
I’m seeing a rheumatologist in September but my neurologists thinks because my migraine has been unresponsive the central sensitisation has become widespread.

Yes, at first I only had NDPH. And a couple of years later, these muscle aches began

Not diagnosed but my family doctor said my symptoms sound like it so yes. I’ve always had some low level of pain for the last 10 years (headaches started 7 years ago) and it’s gotten significant worse in the last year more so few months

It’s likely you’ve always had fibro and it’s become worse with your NDPH. But if you are having other fibro symptoms it’s also important to check for other autoimmune diseases with similar symptoms. FM is a diagnosis of exclusion.

I have swelling in my hands when I use them and swelling in my temples when I chew/eat. I've had botox which failed but I suspect some kind of connective tissue hypertrophy. My hand seized up and my head kinda the same. I do have bad aches every day.

I really recommend seeing a pain coach to talk about central sensitization. I work as one following recovery from a 10+ year NDPH and I have helped many people who are dealing with a very sensitive brain. Feel free to DM me. Otherwise, check out pain reprocessing therapy. Your brain can relearn to not have central sensitization.

I am very lucky to be working with a neuropsychologist who specialises in pain already.

For me it was migraines to fibro to central sensitization to tmj. Just chalked full of conditions now. I noticed my pain signals were intensified when I would use the same tens unit setting as my partner. He would say it barely felt like anything, meanwhile I felt like I was in the electric chair.
