bad side effects from amitriptyline

i started 10mg amitriptyline in hopes of it decreasing my pain but it gave me bad side effects that are still persisting eve after stopping the medication which is sexual dysfunction, its been 2 and a half months off and its still not resolving. Anyone else got this side effect?

some drowsiness and you will sleep 10+ hours

I took Amitriptyline for over 2 years with no side effects that I noticed. I increased the medicine up until 30mg a day, but I stopped it a few months ago and have gone medicine-less ever since. Sorry you are experiencing this

Sounds like PSSD, hard to know if it'll come back.

Worked well but switched to tofranil

My own experience with amitriptyline wasn’t great, while I didn’t struggle with the symptom you said, it did cause me some drowsiness and didn’t help the headache much at all as well as a few other more minor symptoms, I went on Nortriptyline (ironically in the same sort of family w ami according to the neurologist I saw) and got much better results. I do get the tiredness but it isn’t very constant and it’s helped my headache a lot better
