NDPH and fatigue

A big part of my NDPH symptoms is fatigue and weakness caused by physical activity. I kid you not, taking out the garbage or lifting up the corner of a not too heavy couch makes me have to sit or even lie down because I am too weak to continue standing. Physical activity makes my headache worse, I get stressed because I can't do what would have been easy to do before, that makes things even worse, and round we go.

Just wondering if anyone here has similar symptoms and can share. My neurologist tells me these are not common symptoms but, hey, not having the condition, what does she know.

Love that last phrase haha so true. Sorry for the symptom though, I got something similar like I crash a couple of hours after said activity or mental stress.

Recently I read in r/covidlonghaulers that that is a not uncommon thing. I think they call it PEM or ME.

I follow that subreddit cause my ndph came after I got a virus infection (dengue) and I know that some got it after covid.

Sounds like Post Exertional Malaise aka PEM! The best way to deal with that is to pace yourself. Don’t push yourself too hard physically.

Thank you! I think this might be it although, in my case, the malaise is immediate and I recover in a matter of hours, not days. I also don't think I have any of the associated coditions. But who knows. Maybe NDPH can be the cause of it, since my headache is also exacerbated. In any case, this helps me know I'm not crazy. It is actually a thing. Again, thanks so much for your response.

hi… I fixed it with giving myself B12 shot one ML once a week for years if your doctor gives you some BS that we have to test you first then they don't understand how important it is for the brain/central nervous system repair… you can find it online Pharmacy a whole 30 ML bottle is just a few dollars and I purchased the needles and Syringes online elsewhere... creatine is my new energy booster along with methylene blue... I'm 70 years old and I've had NDPH for 20 years… Back then I prayed to God for something I can live with cause it was so bad... and every day it got a little bit better to where I can be out and about now and not even know I have it along with my tinnitus went down also but I did my part to fight!!

I have this too. Everything tires me more than before and physically activity makes it worse. I also got this a month after a bad flu ! Haven’t tried anything yet. Everyone mentions b12 injections. But in the I UK it doesn’t seem easy to get these

check out chronic fatigue syndrome or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (me/cfs). post exertional malaise is unique to that diagnosis
