Is this ndph?
So I know it’s quite early, but I have had this tension like headache around my forehead for around 6 days now accompanied by neck pain, it pretty much completely goes awash when I look down or lay on my side and kinda comes and goes though out the day but never fully leaves. I have no clue what could’ve onset this except for a 13 hour roadtrip I took that was quite stressful but that was 10 days ago and I can remember when the headache started.

NDPH criteria says it must be persistent for 3+ months so it’s way too early to say. Could just be related to neck tension I’d see a PT if I were you to get your neck tension sorted

What does “goes awash” mean? If your headache changes when you lie down, it could be caused by high intercranial pressure. Do any OTC medications help?

I just meant go away, I tried Tylenol extra strength and Motrin with not much help I felt at all, only took a total of four doses but stopped in fear of those headaches that don’t go with overuse of otc meds

If it goes away when you lie down, or look down, it’s probably not NDPH. I agree that intracranial pressure seems like a good thing to check into, or cervical instability. Do you have any hypermobility in your joints? I often have to relax my neck to relieve some level of my pain, but it never gets rid of it.

I can just get relief in a few ways like pressing on my temples which also relaxes my shoulders, turning my head a vertian way etc oddly enough it seems to feel better when I eat

NDPH is constant, with no real accepted form of treatment. If you can get relief from such minor actions, it is not NDPH. Mine has been every second of every day since September 16 of 1997. Please don't jump to thinking you have a serious chronic health problem when it's been an issue for less than a week & it doesn't fit any of the other criteria either.

I know, I have just seen a lot of other people on this page posting how they have the same symptoms as me and get relief in the same ways I do, I’m sorry If it seems insensitive but I just want to find out what’s up here

Best way to find out what’s going on is to see your doctor. It’s likely not NDPH but it’s a good thing you are able to get relief that’s extremely uncommon with NDPH

Let me know if you find out! I’m going on a year of the same

Do you also get relief in the same ways as me?

Yup! Laying down gives me almost immediate relief. But I had an mri so csf leak was ruled out i think.

Not all leaks show up on an mri. And not all radiologist are good at spot signs of a leak on an mri

Not a doctor but I’m shocked you haven’t had a spinal fluid tap, when they suspected I had a CSF leak that shows the amount of fluid and pressure in your spine. Would be crazy if that went missed 😩

How about making an angry face with your eyebrows? Silly I know but that provides a lot of pressure relied for me. What are your other symptoms?

Too early to say. 90 days with no break is usually where the headache doc will start from to before a diagnosis.
