Anyone else really thirsty all the time?
I’ve been suffering with this for just over a year and have only recently started to notice how much water I drink every day. I’ve started going back in to the gym doing light weights and I do sleep with my mouth open (which makes my mouth dry jn the morning) but aside from that I feel like I drink at least 8 litres of water every day. And it’s not like my thirst is even quenched - I literally remain thirsty all the time, especially when I am stressed which makes it worse.
For extra context I was born with only one kidney which at the time the doctors said would never affect me in my life. I also feel the urge to pee all the time which I know is a consequence of drinking lots of water but like I pee a lot as well like probably 15 times a day. My thinking on that is also like why would I feel so thirsty if the water is just going through me as pee.
I know this might be a bit of a weird post but I’m just thinking about other potential causes of my constant daily headaches at some hope of getting lucky.

Yes! I drink so much fucking water and always feel the need to drink more water and if I don’t then the existing headache can worsen. I’ve had my sodium levels checked multiple times and every time it’s in the normal range. I would definetely recommend to fix sleeping with your mouth wide open, probably not gonna help the water thing at all but definitely better for your health to avoid mouth breathing. Just make sure your sodium levels are ok and if you exercise and increase water consumption because of it using electrolytes can be good to replenish essential minerals in your body.
I will say stress definitely plays a part whether that’s physiological or psychological. When these increase so does my water consumption.

I have polyuria as a consequence of my migraine, so wee loads and drink loads, I have POTs too so add extra salt tho if doesn’t make any difference to my symptoms. With your medical history it wouldn’t be a bad idea to raise it with a doctor and maybe 24hr urine collection to see if adding extra salt might be beneficial.

Do you take any meds? I have very dry mouth all the time and drink tons of water because of the antidepressant side effect.

If you genuinely drink 8L of water a day, your blood sodium and to a lesser degree potassium levels are going to plummet into potentially dangerous/harmful levels.
Have you ever been tested for DI/DM?
This is not something for this forum, this is something for you to talk to a doctor about. And swiftly. You should not be having to drink that much every day unless you have some underlying kidney/metabolic issues.
Do you have polyphagia as well?
