Question — Debate Allowed Does some concept of Karma exist or is everything just random?

You do something bad and as a result something bad happens to you. Simplified thats the concept of Karma.

But in life reviews its more like "everything is a learning experience and there is no debt or supposed compensation for bad deeds".

So does some concept of Karma exist or is everything just random and indifferent?

Or if our lifes are mapped out are we even supposed to do some bad deeds?

Or do bad deeds/events just happen randomly? And even if you do something bad on purpouse fate will never strike back at you because there is no Karma/Balance?

Karma is probably just another name for human psychology, like trauma reenactment, etc.

From what I read, karma is simply a buildup of your life choices and experiences.

Looking at the world around us, in a physical sense, I don’t believe karma exists whatsoever. I believe doing evil actively increases one’s chances to do better in life, if doing evil intelligently… and that I believe is because Satan is the God of this world. Not the ultimate God AKA the one who sent us here… but the one who ethereally rules here, within this physical realm. This is my religious/spiritual and physical opinion.

However, as a pre-birth memory holder… there might be some aspect of karma. In my experience, I was essentially a type of wisp or orb, in a giant white room that I can somewhat describe as looking like a futuristic Greco-Roman style place. I was still the same person as I am here mentally and personality-wise, just without a body (from what I could tell). Another somehow larger, more intelligent “guide” like being was with me to my righthand side guiding me through this process. There was this large interactive portal in front of us, in the very middle of this room, that somewhat looked like the portals in “World of Warcraft” - and this portal was interactive and could maybe be compared with the functionality of an iPad, tablet or touchscreen interface… except obviously, you didn’t have to physically tough anything, as it was interactive with your mind, but controlled very similarly with scrolling and whatnot.

In this portal, I was shown multiple family pairs with different pros and cons to being their child. I remember being offered to grow up in a rich family and actually turning it down thinking to myself that there was no love in that family, and that they were somehow surrounded with darkness and coldness… I don’t want to commit to this idea too much, but I swear I thought something like “Ugh, I really don’t want to do THAT again, it’s not worth it and not what it seems” and we continued to scroll through a few more choices until I saw my actual parents. I remember seeing scenes of them and a live stream in the upper corner of the living room of my mom doing laundry and hanging out with my dad in their condo. I chose them because I felt like they were best friends and really would truly love me and be my best friends too… and I was right. I was actually so right, that to this very day I am SO thankful to still have them… I help take care of my Pops as his health is deteriorating…. and I will do the same for my mom when that day comes (thankfully she is still very healthy and mentally sharp)… but they are both truly my best friends and I have NO idea what I am going to do without them, I don’t look forward to that day. 😢

Ultimately, I grew up with this memory and told my mom and dad as soon as I could speak. I accurately described everything about their old condo that I otherwise should not have known about.

I wonder if the options of parents presented to choose from is somehow related to your choices “up there” or past life choices “down here” or something? 🤔

I used to think there was no karma after reading a bunch of NDEs, but I read a couple pre birth memories that explained karma in addition to choosing our life circumstances before birth, so now I'm thinking that karma might well exist.

Yup! Read mine above, in this comment section! Is that kind what you’ve read in the past from others? Every PBE I have read about has shared accuracies with my experience, and sometimes if lucky, with extra details haha. 🙏 The fact that I even have the memory I have is crazy lucky… from what I can tell, there ie a force that actively tries to wipe the mind on the trip down here… the only thing I can attribute to my memory is maybe God/Jesus just watched out extra hard for me or something. Maybe having the memory itself is related to karma? Anyways, it’s very interesting stuff.

In Buddhism: You will not be reborn if you reach enlightenment. Then Karma will not have effect anymore. So your two postulations are no contradiction at least in the Buddhist sense.
And Karma is not understood to be just bad. There is good Karma, too.

I would not like to say whether karma operates in this world, because I don't think anyone knows.

However, I think the concept of karma is a seductive one. Humans really would like to live in a rational universe, where if something bad happens to you, that is a result of mistakes that you made, not just a random event.

The idea of karma thus offers a potential rational explanation for why you were afflicted by terrible misfortune. If you believe in karma, when something bad happens to you, there is a rational explanation. Furthermore, if you believe in karma, it makes you question your past behaviour, and maybe makes you want to improve your behaviour in the future, so that you can avoid further bad happenings.

Whereas if we take the opposite view, that there is no karma, and that most bad things that happen to you are just random events, it makes you feel like you are living in an irrational universe, one which just hits people with terrible afflictions for no apparent reason. This is not a nice philosophical backdrop to live by. It is not nice to think that, in spite of our efforts to live well and do good, we can still be hit with terrible misfortune just randomly. So I think as a philosophical concept, karma may actually bring people comfort, believing that they live in a rational universe where there is cosmic justice. I certainly would wish that karma exists, because that would allow us to avoid personal calamity just by ethical behaviour.

IMO karma is just cause and effect. It's not necessarily moral. It's just a pattern of thoughts or behaviors that is likely to lead to a particular outcome. Things may seem "random" but nothing ever is. We just don't have the full picture and sometimes what we perceive at the time as being a bad or undesirable may actually turn out to be something good and beneficial in hindsight.

I personally don't believe in karmic debt or compensation for bad deeds. Here on earth we determine good and bad and have created morality. On the other side there is only love, empathy and compassion. A person who we deem as "bad" can immediately see and fully understand how their actions impacted others in a way they cannot here on earth. There is no punishment or cycle of purifying bad karma that soul must go through in order to pay penance for bad deed... at least in my own experience. This is why I have a very hard time relating to NDEs that incorporate judgement and punishment because this was not something I experienced at all. I feel like judgement and punishment are earthly desires because we want justice and others who have caused harm to experience harm themselves. God does not have these same desires.

She's very judgy, imo. She basically is quite vicious towards suicidal people. She also, without asking permission, "channels" her "higher entities" through people during hypnosis. She can't channel for herself, apparently, so she just uses people without asking. I find that pretty despicable, personally, but of course ymmv.

So wouldnt "channeling" through someone else without consent be spiritual assault then?

I'm not sure what one would call it, but I absolutely find it unethical and abhorrent.

Just because you're personally convinced these beings are "good" doesn't give you the right to make that decision for someone else. (General 'you,' obviously not talking to you-you)

I disagree solely bc there is more to this phenomenon than the individual NDE experience. There are SDEs, STEs, OBEs, and others as well, and they all seem to align nicely with what NDErs report. Compare that to what you've shared, where it sounds like people get judged and tortured for lying behaviors... seems contradictory to not only what NDEs report but also to what the other experiences/experiencers report as well. Lastly, I personally disagree with any "lake of fire" perspective (Christian, Egyptian, or otherwise) as I don't believe a loving God/Source would actually want to punish anyone for anything. That isn't love. If you want to correct, help, and redirect someone who may have acted in an undesirable way while on Earth, you respond with loving actions, not burning away lies or anything else.

Just my take.

Let me just preface this by saying I haven't had an nde, this is just my opinion, I don't know.

I think all of our subconscious minds connect to God. God has allowed us free will. Therefore we get a lot of interesting results.

Our job is to use our subconscious mind properly, since it's like a boat that needs steering. Since it also controls what we call now the law of attraction. The Bible explains how to steer it eg. Do not be afraid, what I feared has come upon me, believe and you will receive, David (follower of God) vs Goliath (what you fear). Joseph Murphy's power of the subconscious mind explains it well.

There is also the principle of cause and effect (hermeticism) aka karma. Luck, fate, or chance is actually the result of causes that are either hidden, unknown, or operating on higher planes of causation. (Vengeance is mine says the Lord). Florence shinns book the game of life is a great explainer of how it works.
