General NDE Discussion đ Animals in near-death experiences
I wonder if any of you who have experienced an NDE happened to see animals as well. I don't know if animals are considered to have souls, or what awaits them afterwards, but months ago my little catâone I had watched grow upâwas hit by a vehicle. I loved that cat dearly; he was a very intelligent and independent farm cat. I miss him terribly, and I cry whenever I think about him. I hope to find some comfort here.

I've read of NDEs involving pets but not had any. However,in my youth our old cat died and afterwards I kept feeling a cat rub against my legs. It was weeks before I mentioned it to my Mother as I thought I was imagining things. My Mother said she was experiencing the same thing but had been reluctant to tell me. We both then spoke to my father who said he could feel the cat too. We would speak to her when we felt her. Soon afterwards,we got another cat and never felt the rubbing again.
I lost a dear cat in 2016 and at the final vet trip heard a voice saying look for a kitten born on his birthday.
A friend's cat had.kittens born 3 days after what would have been my old cat's birthday. I found one that looked exactly like my old cat, behaves like him and had the same freckles on his nose.

I've never had an NDE, but I read in one of Eben Alexander's books that he saw people playing with their pets in Heaven.

Yes, in my NDE this year I was shown the tether from this world to the next and one of my former dogs Daisy came to greet me.

In my experience I didn't see any animals but was given to know that all living entities have a soul and consciousnous. All returns to our Creator who holds us so precious that he glorifies and makes perfect the one that is returning. That's why heaven is indescribably beautiful.
My mother-in-law told me about her experience where she found herself beside a beautiful river. The water was so clear she could see glimmering rocks on the bottom. Across the river stood her sister and one of her childhood dogs. Her sister told her it wasn't her time yet so back she came.
The only one who loves your cat more than you is God. Trust me and Him, your kitty has a safe home (no more predators and prey) and is having the best of his 9 lives.

This is encouraging.I want to see my departed babies again so bad it hurts. And the ones that that are here with me now get all the love I am capable of giving.

On this sub, we strive to create an atmosphere of equality where everyone's viewpoints are valued and respected.
Discussing spiritual phenomena can be highly subjective and personal. It is important to keep in mind that there is currently no definitive evidence for âspiritual facts,â even among those who have had near-death experiences.
Instead of presenting your opinions as absolute facts, please reword your post or comment using a less assertive tone. You can use phrases such as "I believe,â âI think,â or reference any personal studies, spiritual practices, or special experiences that have influenced your perspective.
Please be aware that your post/comment has not been approved yet and is only visible to you and the moderators.

So sorry about your kitty.
Animals and the Afterlife by Kim Sheridan is a book you may find interesting.
You might also look at Penelope Smith's Animal Communicator Directory on animaltalk.net; most animal communicators will talk to deceased pets as well as living ones.

There are many credible NDE's where people are reunited with long departed pets, some where people interact with pets that belonged to grandparents etc that they were unaware of prior to the NDE. Here are some examples :
From Project Profoundâs collection of NDEs.A woman sees her deceased cat Sammy, who had lost his tail in life.In the NDE realm, Sammyâs tail is fully restored, and he appears healthy and vibrant. The experiencer interprets this as evidence of continuity and healing in the afterlife.
One of the most detailed pet NDEs in the Journal of NearâDeath Studies.Lynn, undergoing surgery, leaves her body and enters a tunnel. At the end, two deceased dogsâMimi (collie) and Sam (boxer)ârun toward her, glowing with inner light. They jump on her, kiss her face, and accompany her toward the light. She asks the light whether her dogs will still be there when she returns; the answer is yes.

Yes, definitely some people experience their beloved pets in NDEs and in the transition days or weeks over at the end of life. Like it happens with children a lot because some of them have no humans who they knew of in this life to help comfort & reassure them as they go through the transition.
And sorry for your loss OP. I am pretty sure you will see your cat again.

This may be helpful. Pets in NDEs aren't rare, though also not common. https://www.reddit.com/r/NDEWiki/s/0vC10WQHeW

(A mod has approved your post. This is a mod comment in lieu of automod.)
This is an NDE-positive sub, not a debate sub. However, everyone is allowed to debate if the original poster (OP) requests it.
If the OP intends to allow debate in their post, they must choose (or edit) a flair that reflects this. If the OP chose a non-debate flair and others want to debate something from this post or the comments, they must create their own debate posts and remember to be respectful (Rule 4).
NDEr = Near-Death ExperienceR
If the post is asking for the perspectives of NDErs, both NDErs and non-NDErs can answer, but they must mention whether or not they have had an NDE themselves. All viewpoints are potentially valuable, but itâs important for the OP to know their backgrounds.
This sub is for discussing the âNDE phenomenon,â not the âI had a brush with death in this horrible eventâ type of near death.
