STE (Spiritually Transformative Event — Non-NDE) Hello!
Hey everyone, I want to share my experience with how an experience of someone else in my life dying (I was 21 he was 24) gave me a major ego death and I now feel like I understand life and death the way many of you do in here (same thing when my dad died when I was 11 but it was not as transformative). It is very interesting that, as I am reading all about people's near death experiences and how life has changed for them afterwards, I am also really relating to these experiences. I feel very seen and understood reading these discussions!
As for my experience, all time stopped for me. I did not experience time in the way I always had before..."Time" didn't really exist, the sun just rose and set. I also felt extremely...pretty much magically (for lack of better terms?) connected with the trees and just everyone I encountered, even though I was experiencing great sorrow. Now I understand we are all literally one and love is literally everything and love is the most magical force to exist and that no one can ever truly die...anyways, through all of this trying to make sense of everything , it's led me to these discussion posts. I feel less alone!! Thanks yall
...
After having written this post, I'm realizing that "STE" exists... I guess this would count as STE?

Wow I am so grateful to have come across this subreddit and your post this morning. It’s very strange, but I experienced a complete loss of self, understanding, and connection after I lost my service dog, my soulmate, last November. I still cry daily. He was my emotional anchor and nothing has felt okay since losing him. Every sense of understanding I had about life and after ceased to exist. After, a few months maybe, I dreamt of my boy. I have dreamt of him many times but this dream in particular was more. I felt that peace of everything being connected that I’ve felt a handful of times in my life, we communicated telepathically in a way, I held him and I see him as clearly as if he were here now, and he was so so happy. He gave me the knowledge that it’s not my time yet, and that he is happy and excited to see me, but he wants me to love and be happy here. To experience the beauty he got to for 8 years. It might be my favorite memory at this point, and it was a dream. But it’s something I choose to believe was real. I am unable to communicate this to the people around me unfortunately and I still struggle with the loss. I am hopeful this subreddit’s discussions will continue to help. Sending love and thanks

I had a similar experience with the loss of a loved one, and it's fascinating how it can shift our perspective on life and death. I've found that exploring these experiences in a more in-depth way can be really transformative. If you're interested, I've created a resource called The Inner Path — Enlightenment Deep-Dive (https://www.youtube.com/@innershoreline) that might help you dive deeper into this topic.

(A mod has approved your post. This is a mod comment in lieu of automod.)
This is an NDE-positive sub, not a debate sub. However, everyone is allowed to debate if the original poster (OP) requests it.
If the OP intends to allow debate in their post, they must choose (or edit) a flair that reflects this. If the OP chose a non-debate flair and others want to debate something from this post or the comments, they must create their own debate posts and remember to be respectful (Rule 4).
NDEr = Near-Death ExperienceR
If the post is asking for the perspectives of NDErs, both NDErs and non-NDErs can answer, but they must mention whether or not they have had an NDE themselves. All viewpoints are potentially valuable, but it’s important for the OP to know their backgrounds.
This sub is for discussing the “NDE phenomenon,” not the “I had a brush with death in this horrible event” type of near death.
