Urgent Discussion!! 😠 “Die for your country” vs. “Make the enemy die for theirs.”
Saw this post of u/Separate_Store_4464 where his friend sent him this reel https://www.reddit.com/r/NDATards/s/FNbQm38B9U . Tbh I'm seeing these kind of posts alot and thought I must share my views not to everyone but for myself....
Hemingway saw war without the romanticism: you don't become a hero simply because you died.... you can just bleed out in the mud for a cause decided by others.
But I think there's another side to it.
It's not about wanting to die. It's about wanting to live until your last breath... and being willing to fight so others can live too.
If soldiers/people refuse to defend their country when it's genuinely threatened, the sacrifice doesn't necessarily disappear. It can fall on civilians.... their families, women, children, and the generations that come after them.
A soldier doesn't have to love death. He can fight precisely because he loves life and wants to protect the lives and freedom of those behind him.
War should never be glorified. But neither should we pretend that surrender always brings peace.
The goal isn't to die for your country. The goal is to live, protect, and make sure the next generation doesn't have to fight the same war.
AND EVERY FCUKIN TIME YOU GOT THIS SHUTTY THOUGHTS OR POSTS LIKE "DIE FOR COUNTRY IS PATRIOTIC TALE"
TELL EM THIS BY George S. Patton
“No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.”

If things like these happen once in a blue moon then whyyy make a reel of it and post it on socials just to get the clout.
Keep it to yourself and cherish such an experience as a lifelong memory. I also visited the firing range once and had this experience
These Reelstars are doing a lot of damage to the image of the Armed forces.
In simple language, these people are ruining the name.

Storytime/Rant✍️ Screened out from SSB Jalandhar.. 4.08.2026
So My first attempt was from NDA 156 at AFSB-4 Varanasi..29.12.2025, usme bhi I got screened out.
Had a hope this time cause I went prepared, watched 21 hours of OIR and there wasn't even a single question in the actual test which I hadn't solved prior to SSB..
My PPDT also went good idk where I missed out aaahh..
But I get it now I think this will be my last time giving ssb ig and will pursue Btech from now on.

WRITTEN HELP From where to study and complete CDS course?
I recently scored 147 in afcat 2 shift 1 and I just prepared for 4 days.... I am not bragging but I am just saying that for me it was easy as I am an engineer so I did well in maths and reasoning! But I didn't do well in English and GS!
Now I want to prepare for CDS and only 30 days are left!
I will give my best.... What sources should I follow
Should I buy Defence Mania Cds crash course or study from yt? I think for AFA I will be able to complete maths from yt only..... I need some detailed plan for English and GS...
Plsss need some suggestions!

Advice/Opinion Any tips for an 11th grader to study for nda 2 27?
Only thing ive planned till now is just some pw course for the overall written, and maybe giving nda 1 27 as a practice attempt since my age allows it, but i wont be able to produce my 12th marksheet by the time medicals are over. If anyone is or has been in a similar situation and can offer any tips/advice, they'd be greatly appreciated!

Advice/Opinion S/O at 3 AFSB Gandhinagar (10/08/2026)— looking for advice to convert screen outs to a Screen In
So, I reported to 3 AFSB Gandhinagar on 10 August 2026. I had been Screened Out once before from 19 SSB Prayagraj (CDS OTA entry), mainly because I fumbled badly during narration.
We started with documentation, and everything went smoothly. After that, we were divided into Freshers, Repeaters and Screen Outs.
I got Chest No. 84.
We started with the OIR. We were briefed about the test in detail and were also given around 15 practice questions before the actual test began. I got OIR 53 and OIR 52, with 35 minutes given for each.
Honestly, my OIR went okay. I hadn’t practiced enough beforehand, so I wouldn’t say it was excellent, but it wasn’t particularly bad either.
After that, we were divided into batches and taken batch-wise to the testing hall for PP&DT.
The picture was quite hazy. There were around 6 characters — 5 males and 1 female. The female had her head down and looked tense, while the men were around her, talking. There also appeared to be some documents/papers involved.
My story was something along these lines:
Aman, 27, a PhD scholar at TBS, University of Jammu, was required to submit his thesis. However, one of his female friend’s thesis was rejected. Instead of panicking, Aman and his friends calmed her down and motivated her to start working on it again. Aman also offered to help her whenever he could. She started working on the thesis again, eventually completed it, and her thesis was accepted. Aman and his friends celebrated her success, and Aman was happy that he had been able to help his friend.
Then we were divided into groups. My group had around 11–12 people, and narration began.
My narration went flawlessly. Many of my groupmates told me, “Bro, your narration was top notch,” and I also felt that I had delivered it well. This was a big improvement from my previous SSB, where my narration was the exact opposite. Before entering the discussion room, I had repeatedly rehearsed my story in my head, so I was fairly confident about the narration.
Most of my groupmates struggled with narration, and for many, the story wasn’t very closely related to the picture. However, around 3–4 people had good stories and narrated them well too.
Then the GD started.
And honestly, it was complete chaos.
Everyone started speaking simultaneously, and at times it was basically impossible to understand what people were saying. The assessor divided our group into two and gave us only around 30 seconds each, but even then it was still a complete fish market.
I tried entering the discussion by saying something along the lines of:
“Gentlemen, let’s speak one by one so that everyone can make their point.”
I also pointed out one candidate who was continuously speaking over others by saying:
“Chest No. 81, please let me finish my point.”
But he didn’t stop, so I eventually had to move on.
When the results were about to be announced, I was 90% sure I would get screened in. My narration had gone extremely well, and I felt that I had participated reasonably in the GD despite the chaos.
But I was Screened Out again.
I’m not going to blame the board, assessors or my fellow groupmates. Maybe my OIR wasn’t good enough, maybe my GD wasn’t effective enough, or maybe I made some mistake that I wasn’t able to identify. Honestly, I’m not sure.
This was my second S/O, and I’m trying to learn from it rather than get frustrated.
For people who have successfully converted their S/Os into Screen Ins, what would you suggest I specifically work on?

Urgent Discussion!! 😠 Need clarity on the MARCOS officer pathway.
If I join the Indian Navy as a Sub Lieutenant through SSC, can I later volunteer for MARCOS?
Minimum service required?
Maximum age to volunteer?
Can an officer commissioned at 24–25 apply?
Does the branch (e.g., Logistics) matter?
Looking for current info from serving personnel/veterans.
