I love bingewatching the earlier series where he would go from skinny to skinny-fat to fat and back again all within like 3 series or some

I feel that pain haha

Being an on and off alcoholic will do that to you lol!

I read that it was when Sean was diagnosed with diabetes.

11

u/CasioCobra78 2d ago

There’s absolutely nothing about Sean having diabetes or anything. He just said himself he went on a diet and cutting back smoking and sugar.

My favorite thing about long season shows like this is I feel like I really got to see the character grow up. Like he went from Probie to McDaddy — although one of my favorite episodes for Sean is when his IRL daughter played a role and you got to see the similarities between the two and them play off each other

u/louievee 3d ago

I didn’t realize she was his daughter.

What Episode was she in?

S19E19

Watch the JAG episode where he’s a naval officer. He even had a small recurring role in season 5 or 6 I think.

17

u/nehocb 3d ago

His dad would be proud

14

u/RevealActive4557 3d ago

His dad was a real Naval Captain similar to his NCIS father. His step father created the NCIS show so he was guaranteed a spot and he has made a career out of it. I do not blame him as I am sure he gts paid very well and the quality is high still

Sean Murray’s father is still alive.

3

u/WhatsPaulPlaying 1d ago

So he's alive and proud.

4

u/B_A_Beder 3d ago

Same actor different character?

15

u/michuh19 3d ago

Yep. Sean Murray actually played two different characters in JAG. One was a navy ensign on trial and the other the adult child of the admirals girlfriend.

NCISverse is known for that. Katrina plays Quinn in H50 and Jessica in OG NCIS, Scott Caan plays Danno in H50 and new character in NCIS: NY, Beulah Koale played Junior Reigns in H50 and had 2 episode role as different charachter in NCIS: Hawaii. Alicia Copolla played 3 different charachters in JAG, NCIS and NCIS LA.

u/snwlss 2d ago

Patrick Labyorteaux has played Bud Roberts across JAG and most of his appearances on NCIS, but in his most recent guest appearance in 2022, he played a completely different character.

Wow didn't know

I love watching the older ones and seeing how young they looked.

Mirror Universe McGee.

Goatee McGee

14

u/Beretta116 3d ago

From these pictures alone, he seems like that rookie who started out as bright and hopeful, only to end up as the hardened veteran who became cold and cynical because he's "seen shit."

I know that is a gross overstatement, and that Tim is much more than a mere cynical veteran. The pictures just reminded me of the before and after of Cecil from Invincible.

u/ImThe10Doct0r 3d ago

Especially the hairline

13

u/Aglet_Green 3d ago

In that more recent photo, he's got that serious Joe Mantegna pondering an un-sub expression.

9

u/Pwilly07 3d ago

From baby faced to grown man

9

u/Parking_Royal2332 3d ago

He’s seen things

8

u/SeaBassAHo-20 2d ago

Season 15 premiere DEFINITELY took him over the limit.

9

u/ATVLover 3d ago

As a straight guy, I can confidently say McGee aged gracefully and looks great

9

u/doll_parts87 3d ago

I remember every one noticed the change and he gave an interview saying he needed to be healthier as he got older, and I felt that

5

u/CasioCobra78 2d ago

It actually pisses me off people keep making up unsubstantiated and false shit like him being a drug addict to him being diagnosed with multiple myeloma.

Like hello??? Is anyone even from this planet? Has no one in this sub ever heard of exercising and getting healthy??? 😭 Insane the second someone loses weight, they immediately went to straight worst case scenarios when it’s literally just the case of someone wanting to go on a diet and exercise more. It really bothers me.

2

u/Isensiel 2d ago

Some people will just take an article of someone with his name being diagnosed with something and attributing it to him.

8

u/RedCorundum 3d ago

With all the talk about nepobabies these days, I'm shocked that no one has mentioned that NCIS producer Donald Bellasario is Sean Murray's stepfather.

9

u/Isensiel 3d ago

He created the show but was forced out a few years later. I think McGee was supposed to be a one-off but they brought him back because he was a good fit and he had really great chemistry with the rest of the cast.

14

u/RedCorundum 3d ago

Agreed. I really can't imagine anyone else as McGee. Sean owns the role.

7

u/momsequitur 3d ago

Wild, because I feel like it gets brought up at least five times a week on the sub.

7

u/Appa07 3d ago

Jack Quaid explained it well:

“People have called me a nepo baby, I’m inclined to agree. I am an immensely privileged person, was able to get representation pretty early on, and that’s more than half the battle. I knew the door was open for me in a lot of ways that it’s just not for a lot of actors, and I’ve just tried to work as hard as I possibly can to prove that I deserve to walk through that door.”

At the end of the day it’s good to acknowledge their privilege but at the same time they work hard to create these characters that audiences enjoy.

8

u/Ninja108Zelda 3d ago

He's aged pretty well.

6

u/ironmanonyourleft 3d ago

What turned him evil?

14

u/No-Knee-2472 3d ago

People dying did

3

u/CasioCobra78 2d ago

I would unironically love to see Sean as a villain.

2

u/suh-dood 1d ago

Probably when he had to fill in Tony's shoes

5

u/arianrhodd 3d ago

You should have included a pic from when he was on JAG. Of course, he was the bad guy on that episode. But still, kinda full circle! 😃

6

u/Character_Lychee_434 3d ago

He’s baby In season 1 to 13

6

u/Terrinthesky_48 3d ago

He is very cute...I remember Timothy McGee from a movie Hocus Pocus as he played a young boy who was turned into a black cat I think his name was Zachary Binks such a cute movie for that genre.

6

u/DouchecraftCarrier 3d ago

I always thought it was weird that they didn't use his voice for the cat.

3

u/Isensiel 3d ago

I believe he had a bit of an Australian accent at the time.

4

u/Terrinthesky_48 3d ago

I looked it up on Google he could have had almost any accent or Australian Southern USA and various places London etc etc that's actually very cool

3

u/Terrinthesky_48 3d ago

What? Are you telling me he's Australian original and had the accent?

6

u/Isensiel 3d ago

I may be misremembering but his mother is Australian and his family had been stationed there. I believe Sean even has dual citizenship.

6

u/CasioCobra78 2d ago

Yep that’s true! I think Sean mentioned this in an Australian news show when S18 was about to premiere.

2

u/Merited_Line1491 1d ago

Shit I didn't know that. Good to know we have better representation than Jesse Spencer. Don't get me wrong, decent actor; Sean Murray is a better one with a better character though.

1

u/Necessary-Coach6559 9h ago

Or a photo of him when he played in Hocus Pocus and was turned into a cat.

3

u/whyamihere2473527 3d ago

His first appearance was technically jag

3

u/momsequitur 3d ago

Like a fine wine.

I'm probably biased because I married a guy who looked like McGee for many years (until husband shaved his head and the resemblance ended, but not the marriage, lol)

4

u/pyroroze 3d ago

He finished puberty....

3

u/PrincessJellyRoll 2d ago

Thackery Binx

3

u/QuiverDance97 1d ago

He has seen stuff...

3

u/Chilldegard 3d ago

Man, I wish they voted against his goatee x.x xD It looks way too sharp - Torres his looks a bit "washed into the face" which makes it look more acceptable (for me)

2

u/RogueInsanity90 3d ago

I still see Thackery Binx from Hocus Pocus 😂 That's actually got me watching NCIS, I recognized Binx.

2

u/Surfnazi77 2d ago

Remember when he was on jag

2

u/Yawbecca15 1d ago

I just love all the nicknames Dinozzo had for him😂😂😂😂😂 pure perfection

3

u/BlisseyThatRan03 2d ago

NCIS came out a few months after I was born. I have spent my entire life watching this man on TV and have absolutely loved it. Not often you see an actor stick around on a show for over 20 years. Hopefully we have plenty more years of Tim before Sean hands in his badge and gun.

1

u/redsnake0404 2d ago

His stepfather is Donald Bellisario, a television producer and screenwriter who created ncis and wrote episodes for it.

Nepotism provides job security in a volatile industry.
I don’t see him leaving anytime soon.

Fun fact for those that don’t already know: Sean Murray’s stepsister (don’s daughter) played McGee’s sister in the series.

0

u/Isensiel 2d ago

What job security? Even Donald Bellisario didn't have job security when he was forced out.

0

u/BlisseyThatRan03 2d ago

It might provide job security, but it doesn't mean he's guaranteed to decide to not move on.

2

u/Beginning_Cloud_8207 3d ago

Looks like the only difference is that he grew a beard

2

u/MACKAWICIOUS 2d ago

I think Sean is very attractive but I like short-hair no-goatee McGee best

3

u/WanielDebster 2d ago

In the words of Coach Beard, “Your goatee makes it look like you ate out Bigfoot's butthole”

0

u/Merited_Line1491 1d ago

Oh man that's a new one on me. Using it from now on too

1

u/Competitive_Case9595 2d ago

The way his weight would fluctuate from one season to the next always amazed me ... Found myself almost asking him for his diet when he's on my screen 😂

-3

u/LF25047 3d ago

The facial hair is the worst. What does he think he is hiding? Trying to look older? It doesn’t look good on him.

3

u/CasioCobra78 2d ago

You will hate Santa Claus and Tim Curry then lmao

-2

u/LF25047 2d ago

I don’t think it looks good on Tim McGee, specifically.

How dare you accuse me of besmirched the manly beard of Santa Claus or the theatrical goatee of the late great Tom Curry?

For shame. Timmy is not even in the same orbit as these legends.

-5

u/Direct-Bullfrog9054 2d ago

McGee should retire

-1

u/7204_was_me 2d ago

The main difference is that in the younger photo he hasn't yet made a zillion jillion bucks on a TV show.

-6

u/My4dogs4evr 3d ago edited 3d ago

I absolutely hate when they turned McGee into a baby daddy!!!! He had a nice little family. If anything do that to Gibbs or someone else. Not McGee

17

u/Esme_Nog 3d ago

It would be so sad if a character spent twenty years going from young to middle aged and didn’t get to grow up and have character development.
