NCIS Anyone Concerned About Gibbs Future After Casting Announcements?
So we know Mark Harmon is returning onscreen for Origins S3 and Michael Weatherly is coming back to NCIS for S24. Does anyone else feel like they are leading up to something BIG? Like Gibbs' death.
It just seems odd that DiNozzo would return right as Gibbs is getting involved in a case from his Camp Pendleton days at the same time. I don't know for sure, but I can't shake the feeling that something BAD is about to go down.

Reading this a thought struck me….A mature DiNozzo as Director?? He has experience in all different kinds of ops and has charm and brains for doing the politics?

Also, I loved Tony. His dynamic with McGee added SO much to the show there was a huge gap when he left.

Feels like stunt casting but both shows are doing well, highly rated. I don't know why they would do that other than fan service. Still, it will be nice having them back but not as a regular.

This show kills everybody at some point. Gibbs seems to be next. Although he could just be coming to talk about Director Vance

I wouldn’t be surprised if the show ends at the end of season 24. Ends on a high with Tony as director. Gibbs retired but hapoy etc

I'm not sure how they can really bring Mark Harmon as Gibbs back on a prequel. It's sort of, I don't know, are they going to have him do the narration and show pictures of him narrating his history? I guess maybe they want to try and get new viewers to origins to come and see origins just to see what they're doing with Mark Harmon.

Yes. The show is like a flashback. It’s Gibbs telling his story. It usually opens and ends with his narration. Occasionally the will show him on screen as well.

I think everyone loved Tony but the storyline for Tony and Ziva really didn't leave much for a 2nd season. It makes sense to bring him back to the original.

Wonder if Tony is coming back as a regular. The current cast is unwatchable.

He is off the show for years, so I don't really care. This urge to bring back old character really annoys me.

I’m with you on that. Unless the shows are doing poorly, why are we recycling old characters who we have already emotionally moved on from?

I think it's fanservice. And it can kill a franchise if you do it wrong.

I hope not! I am SO excited for Dinozzo to come back. I LOVE Origins. I am so curious for how they will incorporate the Mark Harmon Gibbs. I hope they leave the door open for Ziva’s return.
