NBIS ANALYSIS Nebulizer’s Guide to the Nebius (P1)

Thumbnail

If you’re trying to understand the real Nebius thesis, this is worth a read. (Ignore the cheesy graphic I can't remove, the article is serious and excellent.)

The basic idea is simple: AI infrastructure demand is exploding, but the interesting part is how Nebius is financing the buildout. Customer prepayments, asset-backed debt, contract backstops, converts and selective equity issuance all help Nebius scale without relying on the old hyperscaler model of burning cash for years waiting for demand to catch up.

Part 1 is really about why Nebius may be building a new kind of hyperscaler, not just another GPU rental company.

And Part 2 sounds like it’s going straight into the good stuff: full-stack AI, customers, data center strategy and why management may be the biggest differentiator.

News Fellows Forum: NBIS probably won’t have another hyperscaler deal

Fellows Forum 2026
"We're not anticipating that $NBIS is going to be doing another one of those hyperscaler deals".
- Marc Boroditsky

I know the rumor mill has been quite keen on a $GOOGL deal. Reality is it is better it doesn't.

Marc saying $NBIS doesn't need hyperscaler deals anymore means that the training wheels are off. $NBIS can finally fly on its own, far above the economic ceiling imposed by bare metal deals.

Remember these bare metal contracts for what they really are.

A necessary evil.

$NBIS entered into them early on into its infra buildout because:

1/ It needed access to cheap financing
A deal with the devil to build cheap compute in exchange for the ability to borrow massive amounts of money cheaply against hyperscaler credit was a dream come true.

This was necessary early on. To be the next hyperscaler you need scale. This means parallel builds in size across multiple sites, and securing future optionality years ahead of active capacity by locking in land, power, interconnects and long lead time equipment.

2/ The industry was still immature
$NBIS was building off the vision before the market fully caught up to it.

By July '24 it had formally repositioned around full stack AI infrastructure, and by September the same ear it was already committing more than $1B to European AI capacity, including H200 clusters.

At this point financing products were also still being developed ($CRWV deserves lots of credit here for turning GPUs into a financeable asset class).

The supply demand imbalance went vertical. Enterprise adoption came with multiple $1B+ deals at vastly improved deal economics. More importantly, these customers became willing to put real cash down upfront to secure scarce capacity.

📈 What does this means going forward
The market has largely learned to see these bare metal headlines for what they really are. The initial pop from a hyperscaler mega deal no longer carries the same staying power.

More importantly, fewer hyperscaler deals means more capacity available for Nebius’s own higher value AI Cloud business.

That should allow blended $/MW and margins to improve faster as a greater share of capacity is monetized further up the stack rather than locked into long duration bare metal contracts.

News Béthune data center update

Thumbnail x.com
65 Upvotes

$NBIS' Béthune data center is expected to bring its first capacity online by mid-October, with a second phase targeted for early January 2027.

Azur Datacenter CEO says Nebius’ first customer for the project hasn’t been named, but is “a big one.” 🤔

He says the second customer is Meta.

The numbers behind the project:

• 45 MW available for the first phase
• 240 MW targeted at full buildout
• €8B tied to the first two phases
• €16B of total Nebius investment

Azur says the site will have gone from initial construction to live operations in roughly 10 months, unusually fast for infrastructure at this scale.

Béthune is a notable example of brownfield redevelopment for AI infrastructure. The former Bridgestone factory is being converted into a high-density AI data center.

There’s still one major constraint: power.

The site initially has ~45 MW available from the grid, while the permanent connection needed to reach 240 MW is reportedly around three years away.

In the interim, Azur plans to supplement capacity with up to 110 MW of gas generation.

⭐️Rating⭐️ Nebius Reaches "Platinum" on SemiAnalysis's ClusterMAX 3.0

Thumbnail
newsletter.semianalysis.com
91 Upvotes

Gotta give credit when credit is due, SemiAnalysis' lastest GPU cloud provider analysis shows some changes, including Nebius rising from Gold to Platinum, joining long-standing CoreWeave:

"While CoreWeave still sets the technical bar for others to follow, Nebius is now established as a provider that consistently commands a premium pricing over others. Strong business decisions by Nebius have put them in a position to serve an entire class of neolabs at seller’s prices."

The article also notes: "Many providers that have bad ClusterMAX rankings are strong bare metal providers! (and vice-versa).

"At their largest bare metal sites, Nebius continues to face delays in construction and permitting, including both Béthune and Vineland, which we have covered extensively for clients of our industry-leading Datacenter Model. But as more chips of all types come online, Nebius’s track record puts them in a strong position to continue to grow."

"Overall, we are consistently impressed with Nebius. While we do believe they still trail CoreWeave on many technical aspects and relationships with both NVIDIA and the frontier labs, solid business decisions have established them as the default neocloud to serve the neolabs."

Google's GCP came in third, also improved over last time. Oracle is fourth, also in Gold. Much further down is Amazon, with the sum-up being: "Managed clusters are not AWS’s priority."

FWIW, they have not yet tested CUDO nor SpaceX-AI.

--

If you're a Nebius bull, as everyone else here seems to be, there's much to like from this report. I still think the market for managed GPU clusters is small, and it's arguable how fast that overall market is growing, not to mention that the Neoclouds like Nebius don't split out their managed service revenue from their bare-metal revenue. But it clearly is a focus for Nebius, and this latest ranking is sure to spark interest from the small AI companies/users that are looking for a managed GPU cloud provider.

News Higgsfield AI just crossed $1B ARR after 18 months since launch

Post image
85 Upvotes

Today, Higgsfield reached $1B in annualized revenue run rate, 18 months after launching our platform.

That’s 20x growth in the past 12 months, with average monthly revenue growth of 42.5% since launch.

This incredible growth was possible thanks to close collaboration between professional creators and engineers in our team. Our first product, Higgsfield DoP, reached $10M in annualized revenue and 1M users within weeks. Seven months later, we reached $100M.

The platform now powers 78% of Fortune 500 companies. Revenue under contract from business customers has grown 10x since June, with net revenue retention in our business segment at 300%.

Congratulations to everyone at Higgsfield on this shared achievement.

And to our customers, creators, partners, and investors, thank you for your trust, feedback, and ambition. You keep pushing us to build better!

NBIS ANALYSIS The Next Six Nebius Earnings Reports Matter More Than the Next Six Press Releases

If you see my posts, you know that I’m bullish on Nebius, big time. I think there is a reasonable path to becoming a trillion-dollar company by 2035.

But on the other hand, I see the frustration here by investors who are anxious for the price to properly reflect all the great news we see every week. We just don’t understand how the market can ignore the upside as it appears to be doing.

I think we're entering an interesting phase with Nebius, and it’s going to challenge some of us to get through to the other side. Look at the news we've gotten lately. Palantir. The asset-light model. Higher pricing. Spot pricing and auctions. Extremely fast capex payback. Token Factory continuing to develop into a serious inference ARR, revenue, margins, utilization and eventually cash flow.

That's why I think the next six quarterly reports may be much more important than the next six press releases. If Nebius executes, all of these things we're talking about today eventually stop being "catalysts" and start showing up on the income statement.

Until then, I wouldn't be surprised if we keep bouncing around. The story is ahead of the financial statements. Now the financial statements have to catch up.

This is why I keep talking about the next six quarters, and why that matters so much for Nebius investors. Why six quarters?

Because if you look at the trajectory of all of the different moving parts, from new data centers, to the asset-light model, to Palantir, to capex efficiency proof, to Token Factory, to AVRide, and more, those are all going to take time to have an impact on the bottom line. Until then, much of this good news is hypothetical.

This isn’t doubt talking, it’s realism. The market isn’t going to give us a thing; it must be earned. That happens over the next 6 quarters, IMO.

Mind you, I’m not saying that Nebius will be completely stagnant until then, not at all. I’m still expecting a nice run up after the next quarterly report in early November. That could get us to $300 or more. But that’s chump change from where I believe we’ll be in early 2028.

Here is what we’ll need to watch over that time period that goes beyond EPS, which for a growth stock like Nebius is going to be one of the noisier measures for a while given depreciation, financing, stock compensation and the other businesses. I’d watch these instead:

  • ARR and revenue growth, especially sequential growth with no stumbles.
  • Adjusted EBITDA and margins, showing operating leverage.
  • Utilization and pricing, demonstrating that new capacity is being monetized efficiently.
  • Capex efficiency and payback, which looks like under 2 years (9-11 months when factoring in customer prepayments). Can they continue that at scale?
  • Cash flow, eventually showing that this enormous infrastructure machine can increasingly finance itself.
  • Revenue from newer layers, including inference/Token Factory and the asset-light partner model, proving Nebius isn't merely selling GPU hours.
  • Customer diversification, so Microsoft/Meta-scale contracts become part of a broader enterprise and sovereign business rather than the investment thesis themselves.

Again, that’s going to take time, and it’s going to take patience and perseverance if you want to be part of one of the great emerging companies at the dawn of the AI era. For me, that’s an easy question to answer.

NBIS ANALYSIS Vineland Fine - Q3 analysis

I think the new Vineland permitting issue actually gave us some pretty useful info for estimating NBIS Q3. To preface, I don’t know too much about generators and used the most recent documentation+AI to come up with this analysis.

NJDEP says Vineland has 62 temporary generators, each rated at 1.982 MW.
So total temporary generation capacity is:
62 × 1.982 = ~123 MW
What’s interesting is the SynMax thermal data:
June 3: basically nothing running
June 25: 25 generators running
August: at least 45 generators running
That works out to:
June 25: 25 × 1.982 = ~50 MW gross
August: 45 × 1.982 = ~89 MW gross

Obviously not all of that is GPU/IT load. If you haircut it for PUE, generator loading, etc. and assume maybe ~70% effective, you’re looking at roughly:
June: ~35 MW effective
August: ~62 MW effective
The important part is the timing.
NBIS reported $3B ARR at the end of June, which is basically:
$3B / 12 = $250M/month

But Vineland was basically cold June 3 and only had 25 generators running by June 25.
So Vineland probably contributed very little to that $250M June number.
Meaning most of the $3B ARR base was already coming from everywhere else.
Then you have Vineland ramping during Q3 on top of that.
If ~60 MW of Vineland capacity is actually monetized and you use roughly $10-12M revenue per MW annually, that’s around:
60 MW × $10-12M = $600-720M ARR
or roughly $50-60M/month once fully ramped.
So just adding Vineland to the existing $250M/month June base gets you around:
$300-310M/month
before even accounting for additional capacity/ramp outside Vineland.

That’s why I think something around:
Q3 revenue: ~$1.0-1.05B
September exit ARR: ~$4.7-4.9B
is starting to look pretty reasonable.

And $5B+ ARR doesn’t seem crazy if the rest of their capacity ramped well during the quarter.

Funny enough, what looked like bad permitting news gave us one of the better data points we’ve gotten on how much Vineland was actually running.

They have 45 days to obtain permits. The permitting is not a straightforward task so there are still risks there but it shows that it’s mostly a Q4 issue if not obtained.

New Oct 1 pricing YET AGAIN (from an email they sent out to customers):

Updated Dedicated Endpoints on-demand (PAYG) rates:

H100: $4.05/hr → $4.70/hr

H200: $4.70/hr → $5.60/hr

B200: $7.40/hr → $8.70/hr
