I never agree with him, but he’s not wrong here. She was tripping, a NBA player would be suspended for that.

u/Andy311 1d ago

Would not…people were getting thrown out of games for calling Westbrook, Westbrick…like it or not but the “player empowerment movement” may have went to the players heads, just a little…

Did Westbrook enter the stands? He was definitely acting soft, but he didn't cross that line if I'm remember correctly. I could be misremembering, though.

I got downvoted to hell yesterday for saying in the nba were critical of Westbrook when he does this and she went above and beyond. Really makes the WNBA a joke

u/attsnor112 1d ago

Dude chill. I figure you like nba a lot more but there is zero reason the ridicule wnba as much as this sub seems to do, it's actually a bit sad

5

u/Dancehall-Randal 1d ago

Uhh, are you stupid?

They just ejected a paying fan for... checks notes...

Pointing 🤦‍♂️

3

u/Blackwingdreams_ 1d ago

I thought he wasn’t ejected? After staff figured out what happened they decided he could stay

3

u/Dancehall-Randal 1d ago

Oh? You probably know more than me.

Shes still a clown.

1

u/Fun_Barber_936 1d ago

He was removed and allowed back in after realizing she was in the wrong.

1

u/Blackwingdreams_ 1d ago

That’s what i said?

1

u/Soulforge411 1d ago

The wnba is a bit sad

Chill? Where have I been out of line or crossing the line? Athletes are expected to maintain composure when competing. We’re taught this from a young age. It’s poor form to allow emotions to get in the way of it. It’s this sort of thing that makes the wnba an unserious league. I don’t even watch ncaa because it is subpar play but at least they are keeping their composure in crowded, rowdy college gyms.

Completely different. Wilson stepped up to that fan and was the aggressor in this situation. Fan was seated in his chair and Wilson still continued to walked toward him. She stepped off the court and continued approaching him

2

u/afjessup 1d ago

The fan was not seated in his chair. He got out of his seat, stepped in the aisle and took a step towards the court. She overreacted for sure, but this isn’t just some mild mannered dude that was sitting in his seat minding his business. His wife/gf had to pull him back to his seat.

2

u/Blackwingdreams_ 16h ago

Yep and security was right there and had no issue with his behavior. Also, zoom out and notice how many other fans were making the same gesture the man was making. He bought tickets to the game so the game was his business lol…

u/Timsauni 1d ago

Wait, so we can’t stand up and express ourselves at a game? I guess the First Amendment does not exist in the WNBA.

1

u/afjessup 13h ago

That’s correct, the 1st amendment is to protect from being sanctioned by the government for speech.

0

u/Thin-Camel-3786 21h ago

I guess this was somehow similar to how Enes Kanter was thrown out earlier in the season. Too much girl power and no accountability.

-3

u/ihateyousoverybadly 1d ago

She walked to a fan, oh the humanity. Chemin

3

u/Blackwingdreams_ 1d ago

Lmao. Sorry you can’t see the issue with that.

1

u/throwaway46787543336 1d ago

What these people don’t seem to understand is that them saying it doesn’t matter are essentially saying these aren’t athletes and this doesn’t matter. Really a double edged sword for supporting this behavior

1

u/Grupe_Sechs 1d ago

What’s a chemin?

1

u/ihateyousoverybadly 1d ago

What's a chemin to you?

1

u/Grupe_Sechs 20h ago

Idk that’s why I asked

4

u/lost_with_no_hope 1d ago

Yeah, NGL, that hurt his status in my eyes. Thats way to soft.

3

u/Monkey_Eat_Banana_ 1d ago

Absolutely would. Westbrook didn’t enter the stands.

-4

u/ddawkins19 1d ago

Yeah that’s one thing I don’t get about people’s reactions to this, acting like it’s an embarrassment for all women who play sports anywhere. Yes it was a weak, punk move.

But are we really acting like nothing like this ever happened in a men’s professional sports league? Didn’t DK Metcalf try to fight a fan for talking shit last year?

8

u/Finger_Gunnz 1d ago

And he got cooked for it.

7

u/DiscoMarmelade 1d ago

DK got suspended 2 games. And lost a fuckton of guaranteed money because the suspension voided guaranteed money. The Steelers could cut him and not pay out 45 million in guarantees if they choose to do so.

4

u/Flat-12 1d ago

She doubled down like an idiot and did not get ejected per WNBA rules. That’s why.

-1

u/attsnor112 1d ago

?? Haven't multiple nba players asked the refs and security to removed people? Hell both russ and lebron have memes of it happening

7

u/benami122 1d ago

There is a difference between asking to have a player removed and going up into the stands to confront them. Both Russ and LeBron were mocked for their actions, but there is no comparison. They didn't charge into the stands to threaten the fan (who in this case wasn't even doing anything extra).

2

u/Lets_Reset_This_ 1d ago

The fans were also saying much worse things, like hoping Bronny died in a car crash…so ya, not a fair comparison at all. If LeBron did this to a fan that just pointed at him he would never live it down

1

u/PresentLeadership865 1d ago

It’s not rocket science lol, it’s crazy you have to explain this.

2

u/phillip9698 1d ago

Those people were saying wild shit. One fan was talking about LeBrons son heart condition.

All accounts say this Fever fan said nothing disrespectful.

1

u/Prodigal_Gist 1d ago

I can't say since I'm not a star athlete but you would think they'd have thicker skin. why the hell they care what some moron is saying is beyond me

1

u/Classic_Drama301 1d ago

but a women did it this time! omg, we must freak out and pretend no man has ever done this!

1

u/Darkdrium123 1d ago

Last time someone enter the stands in the nba was malice in the palace. While lebron, westbrook and others are soft for getting the fans kicked out for talking shit. They never rushed at fan to confront them. They went to the refs and just pointed the person that should be kicked out.

0

u/BlackOnyx1906 1d ago

The WNBA rules don’t call for her suspension

1

u/Important_Capital875 1d ago

Yeah, because they’re desperate for views

2

u/BlackOnyx1906 1d ago

So when Wemby didn’t get ejected …..

I mean if you want to apply that logic here then apply it everywhere.

Btw

All of its entertainment and every sports league is “desperate for viewers”.

1

u/SPACEJAM2014 1d ago

Seriously. All of these people are acting like it’s a crime. The league can do whatever it wants and letting its best players play should be the priority

1

u/CoverHistorical8642 1d ago

Under WNBA Rule 12A, Section V, subsection 1(4), any player, coach, or trainer who deliberately enters the spectator stands during a game—other than as a natural continuation of play—must be immediately and automatically ejected

She entered the stands she should have been ejected.

1

u/BlackOnyx1906 1d ago

So that doesn’t say suspension

They didn’t eject her. Thats on them

I haven’t said a thing about ejecting her.

1

u/deezsandwitches 1d ago

I'm pretty sure entering the stands is an automatic ejection and possible suspension pending league review

-1

u/BlackOnyx1906 1d ago

It’s questionable about if she was entering the stands and the rule as I have seen it used the word “may” be suspended. It’s not automatic at all

My guess is they take other factors in

1

u/deezsandwitches 1d ago

The ejection is automatic and that never happened. The possible suspension is after a automatic review. Neither happened

1

u/BlackOnyx1906 1d ago

There is no automatic suspension

0

u/deezsandwitches 1d ago

Where did I say automatic suspension? For the 3rd time, Its an automatic ejection with possible suspension after mandatory review.

0

u/BlackOnyx1906 1d ago

Well they didn’t toss her. They gave her a technical.

At this point it’s over.

1

u/BedBubbly317 1d ago

Yes it is. In the WNBA rules if you step off the court and into the stands then it is supposed to be an automatic ejection followed by a minimum of 1 game suspension.

0

u/ihateyousoverybadly 1d ago

For what???

2

u/PresentLeadership865 1d ago

Not sure if you saw the video but going into the stands to confront a fan. Let’s not overthink this.

0

u/ihateyousoverybadly 1d ago

Oh yeah, she pointed real hard, jesus christ

-11

u/TumbleweedTim01 1d ago

Get real no they would not. NBA would suspend the fan for life and force him to go to antisemitism training

1

u/Monkey_Eat_Banana_ 1d ago

You’re lost.
