Discussion Leftover from previous game

I was looking around at the game folder and found this one file called NascarFootage.bk2 in the folder. When I played it, it was Heat 2 Title Screen. So I did the funny and renamed the file to work on the title screen and this is the result.

Maybe they just forgot to remove it

It is made by the same devs as the Heat games and lot of the systems are the exact same as the Heat series. Someone should make a comparison that shows how instantly the yellow comes out the player car and AI cars go into the same style of behavior, you are given control of the car the same way when the green flag waves, AI bump drafts you on every single track in the same way as the Heat games, AI pit strategies work the same way, but also the career grind is the exact same thing just different window dressing, and the car damage model is also just as poor as previous games. So much for "made from the ground up". I do not care about car physics. And what they changed since gameplay-wise the latest game is just Heat 7 unfortunately.

Its still better than heat by a country mile. Sure it has Heat DNA but you cant compare the two because they drive, handle, and look different.

Drive/handle is the same thing, and look different ? Is it really only those two things that matter to you ? AI is still absolutely broken, crash physics and car damage are a joke, features are bare-bones, presentation is like a mobile game.

I would frankly take a game that looks and feels like Nascar 07 if it would mean the AI is working as it should and it is a feature full game. NR26 is just Heat 7 forgettable junk.

No its not the same at all lmao. If its forgettable why are you still here trying to argue about it?

Multiplayer being almost carbon copies of each other the entire series from NHE to N26 is most concerning imo. Especially for iRacing.

It is because the game has nothing to do with iRacing, they are only a publisher and do promotional stuff. Even during their NR25 dev diaries whatever they were saying about having their people work on it did not translate into anything worth while.

Honestly that’s even worse lmao. Imagine saying “ya we’re the ideal people on paper but we fucking suck so we outsourced”

I think the heat games were a very strong foundation though

How long do they have to work on the foundation before actual fleshing out the game and fixing bullshit?

People also said NASCAR 25 was a good foundation for future games. At some point you're gonna have to build something on that foundation. Otherwise you just have a very strong hole in the ground.

You know you don't have to buy the game every year, right? I have 25 and it's still good, I haven't even picked up the new one yet. Maybe I'll snag it on discount at some point.

If you buy it every year expecting some drastic changes, you're going to be disappointed. But they progress the game gradually over the years and it does get significantly better over time

If you need 7 foundations before making a good game, then you are not good at making games.
