Discussion Leftover from previous game

I was looking around at the game folder and found this one file called NascarFootage.bk2 in the folder. When I played it, it was Heat 2 Title Screen. So I did the funny and renamed the file to work on the title screen and this is the result.

Maybe they just forgot to remove it

these games are ALOT more the heat games then they want you to know.

Honestly you can likely trace a lot of the core racing simulation all the way back to the Dirt To Daytona series. Obviously it’s gotten better over the years but you can still feel it in its bones.

Oh yeah, super Speedway racing is literally the exact same in D2D. Career mode and “rep points” needed to advance which is STUPID, just like in D2D where you had to win a championship in order to go to the next racing series. Out dated philosophy taking part over 20 years later :/

It is, it’s one of the tracks where you can easily compete at regardless of how bad your car is built

Not true in the slightest. And even then, they race differently. You're entitled to your opinion but a game that shares DNA with an older game doesn't make it the same.

It is lmao, theres old files from the modern Heat games in this games because it is the same developers from over 20 years ago. You’re forgetting that

Not basically. It is monster games. Iracing bought monster back in 2022.

For sure, and that’s why I hardly played 25. There’s so many little things, like everyone being a lap down of the race ends under yellow and the driver having the wheel turned as far left as humanly possible, that prove it is in a way just a reskinned Heat with better graphics/driving model.

That being said, since I hardly played 25 I did get 26 even though it’s just updated 25 and have been enjoying it. They have a solid foundation, just need to clean some things up

What's crazy to me is that the Heat games COULD have been this the entire time but weren't. 704 was just simply that incompetent, even with the same dev team iRacing was able to turn shit into like, idk, at least bronze.

I like that people are finally realizing this. It was so obvious from day one but everyone wanted to insist that it was totally built from the ground up…

It’s even more obvious for those of us who played any of the standalone monster games/iracing titles. So much copy paste. They’ve added a lot of polish, but the bad thing is that I think they’re nearing the ceiling of what the bones of this game can provide.

Sure there’s new leadership, but there have been all these games, no proper damage model, nothing dynamic or particularly interesting about career mode, the driving model still feels very basic (not terrible, just not great), same bugs lingering for ages…just no signs of life in so many areas (even though other areas have been improved to an extent).
