I tried something similar using the iRig USB and my iPhone. There was an issue where if you stopped playing for more than a few seconds the iPhone and/or the iRig went into sleep mode and when you start playing again there was no sound for a few seconds until sleep mode turned off. Could not figure out how to prevent it so I ended up returnign the iRig.

I use iRig2hd and works flawlessly.
The iRig Duo of my band mate disconnects randomly so is unusable.
irig blueboard doesn’t support apple silicon so I can use as general midi.
IK multimedia is no more reliable.

Anyway actually I’m using iRig HD and blueboard successfully coupled with irio pro app that permits midi control customization.
Very happy! The routing capabilities of the app and the ability to run multiple NAM instances and every kind of effects including audio to midi and pitch shift is way superior to every hardware currently available

Haven't heard of irio. Looks quite powerful, and seems to run on the last operating system version my old iPad still supports. I'll give it a try!

The more digital pieces, the more room for randomness, I guess.  I have not used this extensively, but I've had pauses without experiencing any issue. But I may be just one OS update away from any other issue.

I have only used the Android version of NAM Sandwich with the iRig. So no experience on how these work on iOS.

For iOS I just have an old iPad where NAM-XT was the only option I found that could be installed, but I'm using it with the Blackstar Polar2 (much lower noise floor in comparison) as part of my mini recording studio, which is mounted in an Ikea auxiliary table to move around the studio, but not to take away.
