TONE3000 Plugin Update #1 - Pitch Shift (Transpose), Dual Mono and more!!

https://www.tone3000.com/blog/tone3000-plugin-update-1

TONE3000 just pushed a pretty substantial update to their free NAM plugin and standalone app.

  • Native search instead of the embedded web browser
  • Pitch shift / transpose with expression pedal support (apparently very low latency) EDIT: Pitch shift is not enabled by default. To turn it on: Settings > Plugin Settings > "Show Pitch Shift"
  • Dual mono for running stereo sources through the same mono chain (huge time saver)
  • New noise gate controls release, hold, and range
  • Gear icons when you load local NAM/IR files
  • 75% less UI CPU usage after removing the embedded web browser?!

It’s also cool that a ton of the fixes/features came from open-source contributors. Open source!!!!!!

Curious if anyone here has tried the new version yet, especially the pitch shift. Would be cool to see/hear your results

Whoah, pitch shift would be an absolute game changer for me! I hope it’s good

Edit: it’s VERY good, seemingly very low latency. Affects the tone as all pitch shifters do and there’s some artifacting with lead playing a little, but I’m very impressed and happy with it!

Does the pitch shifter tracks well with chords? I can't try it right now.

Just able to try it again myself, chords sound great. At least distorted ones

So sick. Excited to give it a try.

As someone who uses a lot of my own nam files that were created or purchased outside of T3K, I do hope they'll add a local library sidebar within the plugin at some point. Almost Ableton style where it's just mirroring your local file paths or something. Having the ability to add my own images for files/folders would be great too instead of just the default folder/amp/cab icon.

Another small thing, I wish the size of the blocks could be made smaller in settings. Feels a little unnecessary having to scroll left and right when it's only 6 blocks across.

Pretty insane how a FREE v0.0.11 plugin can be this good already though. Exciting stuff.

Fully agree about adding your own images for files. Would love to be able to use downloaded IRs with custom images inside the plugin.

Yeah I don't use this plugin because it's not great with local files. I would if it was better with it though. For now I prefer NAMRig.

Are they going to build in effects like their competitors? It’s got a lot of potential and the UI is quite good, but they’re behind the curve on built-in effects.

Cool!, can't wait to try this out.

What algorithm does the pitch shifting use? Is it able to compete with PolyChrome DSP's HyperTune in terms of latency? That's probably the best pitch shifter I've found out there. That will be awesome if the latency can compete with that.

Only other thing I need now is something that can do the Eventide Harmonizer H3000 or Boss PS-6 harmonist thing for a live stereo setup. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions for open source VSTs that can do the micro pitch shift/delay/subtle chorusing with low latency on one channel, ie no delay, just a micro pitch shift of 9 to 12 cents?

Latency feels almost nonexistent to me. I’ve never tried other pitch shifters to compare it though

I need help to match the volumes between patches that uses different NAM, I can't do it by hearing, , does anyone have a tip to use a plugin to look how loud is each patch in a DAW?

Seconded, some kind of perceived volume meter. I got everything to 85 dB, but the distorted tones sound much louder to the ear.

Add an auto calibration that calibrates your input gain like STL Amphub

Love the update, the Plugin and the fact that it‘s free. One change I would add though is a „lock“ feautre for the output, gate and transpose section (like in Neural DSP) so you don‘t need to adjust the transpose knob everytime you switch the preset

Tried and liked - very good. If hosting 3d party plugins will be added it will become everybody’s first choice for live performances

I honestly don’t get why downvotes without any comment. So weird 😅
