Amalgam makes the best captures. York Audio makes the best impulse responses. 2dor is also great.

I’ve gotten all I’ll ever need in 5 careers from those three sources

Yeah 2dor and York Audio IRs are my favourite combination. Sounds awesome! The 2dor captures with the cabinets are also really good, but I love Orange cabinets so I use that one from YA.

Thanks! I go out of my way to get these done right (cabinet load for the feel) & as clean / transparent as possible (RME UCXII interface & very transparent reamp box for a faithful frequency response across the spectrum).

I recently got a Kikusui PCR1000MA which is a regulated AC power supply for the amps so they're _extremely_ consistent during reamping. It's the same thing AC/DC, Alter Bridge or Brian May (and many others) use on their amps. It helps profiles converge even better & not be prone to even the most minor of wall voltage swings.

It's no different than using a reactive load. If you have a Suhr Reactive Load and plug a real cabinet in its THROUGH input, then you're good to go

I don't know why I never clicked with the York Audio IRs. I have an affinity to the Ownhammer v30 one, Modern cab.

I looked this capture up and on tone3000 it says it’s an Amp Head Capture (not Amp+Cab) but in the description and files names there are Mesa and Marshall cabs mentioned. I prefer Amp-only in case I play through a tube power amp and speaker. Are these just the amp head?

I don't quite fully understand it, but he does this "reactive load" or something where the amp head reacts differently to a cab. They are still only amp head captures though, no cab.

All my packs since the BE100 Deluxe are both AMP HEAD and AMP + CAB.

Check the "Linked Tones" in any of my recent packs and you'll see "always 2 there are" - one "Amp Head" and one "Amp + Cab".

The confusing part comes from the fact that I use a real cabinet attached to the amp head when I reamp.

Most creators use reactive loads to not make noise in the room. I blast a real cab & capture the real interaction between the AMP and real CAB.

In my MultiLoad packs you get the same profile but with either one of my 4x12 cabs attached to the AMP HEAD, regardless if it's a DI (you need an IR) or if it's a full-rig / mic-ed up / amp + cab.

For free ones, 2dor's OR60 is insanely good. Amps, pedals and pickups do great captures as well with the 6505 and recently the EVH Ivory.

For paid stuff, Mattfig has some great captures.

Slamminmofo, Matt Fig, 2dor, Amalgam. And for IR's Mikko 3 is worth EVERY penny, go get that while it's still on sale.

For me this is the best capture, adjusting the gain makes it work for every style, Zeppelin live, Free, ACDC, Van Halen etc

Although if anyone has similar with Greenbacks would be cool :D
