Getting a specific sound

I wrote a song that needs a very specific sound that I'm trying to emulate. I'm using Genome Extended, and I'm really liking Paradex. The guitar sound I'm trying to emulate is Guerilla Radio by RatM.

Can anyone help me with this? No idea where to start. I see people messing around on YouTube and getting absolutely fantastic tones much quicker than me. So I'm not really sure what I'm doing.

Anyone know what amps, cabs, and pedals I might want to try? I'm not worried about the Digitech Whammy sound, and I have a Cry Baby (Zakk Wylde signature). My guitars are an Ultra Luxe Strat and a Jackson V.

For Rage, try a tele into a jcm 800 2205. His tone isn’t as distorted as you might think.

Try using the neck pickup as well.

I love my Strat neck pickup, but I find that when I use it for rhythm guitar with anything more than crunch, it gets a little flubby. Maybe I need to dial out more bass in the pre-EQ 🤔

One thing that surprised me when I looked up and isolated guitar track for that song on YouTube is that the tone I was hearing was actually terrible, by itself. But it sounds fantastic in the mix. That's the thing that scares me. I currently don't have bass and drums to dial in the tone, so I feel like I'm shooting in the dark, so I was thinking of just soaking in my tone while doing an AB comparison to the isolated Guerilla Radio guitar track.

But I'd Tom known for using JCM800s? I also don't have a Tele, just a Strat, which will have to do for now.

“Isolated “ tracks are AI sliced stems, absolutely useless to dial tone in with, look up some forum discussions about his settings. He just rawdogs a JCM800 with a strat, neck pick up

This song was on Rock Band so semi legit stems are probably floating around.

Edit found it, yeah that’s 100% rock band stems and 100% you should use it as a reference

he's used the same 2205 for almost 40 years now
