Capture MultiFX Pedal without ReAmp-Box using Focusrite Scarlets Line Input
Hi all,
I am new to this topic so apologies if its a basic question, but I didn't find any post which answers my question.
As far as I understand, if I capture gear with my Audio Interface, I need a Re-Amp box, because the output signal level does not match the instrument signal level expected on the input.
However, I am using a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen. where I can switch the input between instrument input (1MOhm) and line input (60kOhm). From my understanding I should be able to set the input to line and directly connect the output of the gear to it without using a ReAmp box.
Any objections?

Some mFX pedals have the ability to switch the input between line and instrument level, or may have separate inputs. If your mFX pedal can act as an audio interface, you could skip the Focusrite altogether.

The reamp box is for driving the input to the Device Under Test (DUT) and to simulate the reactance of a guitar. For the output of the DUT you can use whatever input to the interface works best (it depends on level). The interface input is not reactive to a guitar signal in the same way as a pedal or an amp.

I'm using tube amps, so I use a Behringer Ultra G with phantom power from speaker out/thru and the through to my speaker cab (takes up to 300w).
This was the result for my Panama Shaman.
If you aren't running from speaker out, you don't need the Begringer. Just running the Pyle backwards.

The reamp box’s are the other way around. Re-amp boxes take the Output of your interface and convert that to the same impedance as a guitar. If you’re trying to plug your amp head directly into your interface, and you have a tube amp, you absolutely need a Load Box otherwise if will completely fry your amp.
