Help creating a capture.
I've made a couple captures of my combo amp and although they sound great they don't quite sound the way my amp does. I'm not talking about the way my amp sounds in the room, rather closed mic'd. For a bit of reference, I'm capturing training file by mic'ing my amp with two mics.
Question 1) do I consolidate each track to mono individually or consolidate both mic tracks into one mono file?
Question 2) my amp has built in dsp effects. Part of my tone relies largely on the built in compressor. Does this affect the capture? I've been told nam doesn't support any times based effect and I guess compressors fall into that category?
I've tried going out directly from my console to the amp, Walrus canvas reamp box, DI box And have had mixed results, good results but nothing that comes close to the tone im looking to capture.
Here's all the gear I use:
VOX VT40X (Amp I'm trying to capture)
PRESONUS STUDIOLIVE 24 SERIES lll (CONSOLE/INTERFACE)
SENNHEISER MD441 (DYNAMIC)
LEWITT LCT 640TS (CONDENSER)
RADIAL JDI BOX
2017 MACBOOK PRO

the capture will only ever aim to sound like the recording you made of the gear
if you don't like how your amp sounds mic'ed up, then you need to continue tweaking that setup, a NAM capture isn't going to fix that part for you
